Depends on:

How much was in the kitty.

Who the chaser was.

How much the lower offer was for.

Sometimes it doesn’t make much odds if it’s just a small minus amount. A huge minus amount? Then no, I wouldn’t as I’d feel a bit bad.

I think that there should be a rule that one of the contestants has to go high. It’s so so dull when they all go middle.
