The majority of people we've met either look nothing like their photos or were ten years older than their photos anyway.

Actually thinking about it I did meet a couple of people without pictures but it was way back in the 90s when people didn't even have digital cameras, let alone smartphones, and we were all using slow dialup modems, in order to have a picture you needed access to a scanner which was an expensive bit of kit back in those days and even a small digital image (under 100kb) would take about 10 minutes to download! There was a website called 'Biancas Smut Shack' and most of the users were based in the US, Canada or Australia, hardly any UK users at all. It was all about the text-based cybersex.
