I think it depends on the shot, some really lend themselves to a B&W, and some don’t work as well.

Depends on the shot. Erotic, upclose, "what's that" shots look great in BW as long as the lighting is perfect too.

I always go for a mixture of both. I start will colour and filter to black and white. Different pics suit a particular filter
