Do you randomly say hello and introduce yourself to folks on here?

Non sexual.. just a hey I’ve noticed you’re new on the forum or I like the way you post… just random messages to let someone know they’re visible? I’m sure we all feel invisible here sometimes.

I do this occasionally and most likely sound a bit nuts as I very much write as I think.. it makes perfect sense to me and me alone…

Anyways.. if you don’t.. why not give it a go. Just say hi… Christ now I’m singing bloody reaching out (sweet Caroline) in my head…

Anyone else feeling slightly sociable?!?

I’ve put up a few emotional comments on threads, especially over marriage break up or my health issues.

I’ve always been appreciated when both men and women have private messaged me over each issue I’ve shared. No sexual content just checking I’m alright, often I wasn’t, but their messages did help.

There’s more good than bad out in the World and on this site, hidden at times but available if needed.

Not a random hello but I have messaged a couple of times due to forum threads. Once to admit they were on our hotlist, once when a man seemed particularly low and I wanted him to know he was appreciated and noticed.

Other people messaging us off the back of forum stuff is how I've made friends. And very lovely they are too

I have done a couple of times when someone looked like they needed a ear to listen (well an eye to read as it’s text based) or if I knew of something that might help them when the discussion has been serious like domestic abuse.

I know some guys don’t help themselves with shitty one line messages.

What can get tiresome though, is messages sent as an extension to something said on a thread. So for example, on the ‘fuck, kiss, avoid’ threads, when someone comes back to you to say why they chose ‘fuck’.

Just keep it to the forum!

Fully agree on the private messages vs forum responses. There are some topics that suit a more private discussion but the vast majority send the first message related to the forum thread then follow it up with a FAF message or a request for wank fodder.

It gets old quickly!

Single males unfortunately get tarnished with the same brush (mostly) and a lot of people on here (single or coupled up) think a nice message has other agendas than just an appreciation of who they are, their pics or their input to forum topics.

Yes I do. Some are receptive and others are not.

I’ve had a couple of really good exchanges but they are rare. I some are just small talk and fizzle to nothing but they were polite too.

I often drop an icebreaker or a quick hello, why shouldn’t we.

I do randomly message people, usually once I have a sense of what they're like from the forums. I've messaged to say thank you for backing me up in a thread / for contributing to a thread I started / to ask if they're ok. If people message me randomly (and don't appear to be after sex) I will reply.
