"Can your GP not help? Gps can do very little for severe pain" Sadly I know this myself. I've just not taken the TENS option

"It's more for shoulder pain, at times it can be very debilitating at others it's fine, it's an erratic muscle that keeps knitting but so far no joy using conventional methods. I am losing weight and getting fit but perversely that seems to be making it worse." It's all fine and dandy getting fit but some exercise might actually be making it worse. Have you seen a physio?

"Can your GP not help? Gps can do very little for severe pain" They just refer your on, chuck pills at you, then tell you you need to come off said pills... It's a nightmare. I just bought one from Amazon for my back/leg. Kind of helps when it's on, doing it's thing. I'll just look the the details up

Never makes a difference. I wasn't overweight when my pain started, so it's irrelevant. Hydrotherapy is really good if you can get a referral for that, I got one through the long term conditions team, who ran the pain management program.

One doctor said to me (probably in frustration) "can't you just soldier on"

""can't you just soldier on" ..at which point you shot the f**ker right I felt like it. " I've given up and just put up with the constant pain. Having my wheelchair helps because it allows me to take the weight off my leg (which is what makes things worse) and I don't have to stand like a flamingo on the good leg (thus causing myself back and hip pain). However, the lack of an adapted house means no chair at home.... I tried TENS but didn't help my pain, unfortunately.

"If you ever suffer from muscle/ligament/joint pai avoid visiting a GP (unless it's specifically for a referral). Always visit a physio instead. " And when the physio: a) declines your referral OR b) examines you and is completely baffled and says "can't help you" OR c) tries to send you to a different type of physio who....... Back to a) What does one do then?!

It's been very tempting at times.

"I use one and it was the cheapest one Amazon did as I was sceptical it worked but it did the job and it's still going strong after 4yr. The sticky pads lost their stick but that's to be expected" The pads should be replaceable?

Nah, it's not going to. 5yrs and no improvement - there's only about another 50-odd years to endure, right?!
