How is Seb Coe a twat or a tosser? He was a highly successful athlete, he organised a very successful Olympics and has never been accused of anything dodgy or underhand.

I'd say he's the epitome of someone our children should aspire to.

I was refering to new labour leader as title ed milliband is the twat seb coe not my cup of tea did good job of olympics

Seb Coe has completely won me over in the last few years. I know he was there because of Tessa and the Olympics but I just found it interesting that he was invited at all. He shone out as the epitome of a leader. Determined, resolute, certain and someone you would trust with a big job.

I never thought I'd be saying that just four years ago. Having him at Conference did lead my idle thoughts to wonder if the Labour spin machine just planted the subliminal message in the collective national brain that Seb is really part of the Labour party.

I feel totally let down by the lefts, rights, middles what ever you want to call them.

Milliband reminds me of something from Wallace n Gromit, and dont get me started on the other two!

Having read the prosective cuts our local council are planning makes my blood boil.

A couple of some may say minor things, they have proposed, is to get rid of winter maintenence and the up keeps of the local roads (which have not been repaired snce last winter). I Live in a town whch is heavily hit by the snow, ice etc, so does that mean I will get a rebate on my road tax? Nope.

I have done voluntary work for youth programmes and children centres in the local council estate area, and they are wanting to get rid of these, even though there is problems with anti social behaviour from youths in a local area. So lets cut back police dealing with these issues and let the teens walk the streets again and cause trouble!

I doubt any government could sort this country out no matter of any pledges they make.

We are in a shit hole right now (for want of a better phrase) and will be for some time unless they re-evaluate their own spending and taxes, (includng the rich, a loophole for traders with their own personal tax and shutting loop holes for massive VAT/Excise/Revenue fraud _ which wouldnt be as hard if they were actuallyu analysing the Human Rights Act/EU freedom of goods act) oh and I do recall the Tories wanting to opt out of some of the human rights act, but surprsingly they went back on theiir word, like most do.

Meh. We don't have a single decent option, politically, at the moment. They're all as corrupt and self-serving as each other, and regardless of which party is in power, the civil servants and the system in general remains the same.

No decent, honest person can thrive long in politics because it would spoil the fun for too many. They either get corrupted, discredited or chewed up and spat out.

Voters vote for the person they think will do the best for them and their local area but once elected, more often than not, the politician is expected to vote for the party, not their constituents! If they don't, they don't go far. If you want any success in politics, you do as the party says, or else.

The entire system is screwed and I have no faith in it, or anyone sailing in it.

Whatever the state of our country would you move to another country and say that everything there is better than in the UK? We have lots to be thankful of in this country and perhaps its a little too easy to forget that at times x

I agree with some of what you say. That's the problem with a coalition. Neither party get what they want and none of the voters get what they voted for.

However if it wasn't for Labours we've got money lets spend it...ooops we've spent all our money lets borrow loads more attitude we wouldn't be in such a bad way. And don't for one minute think that Labour won't keep tory taxes and add more of their own if they get in again...

I also agree with other posters saying that they are as bad as each other, but for me torys are the best of a bad bunch...

Georgey, I know Seb is a Tory. That is why I found him an interesting choice to headline the Labour Conference.

I too think that the wrong Milliband was elected to leader. In the course of my work a few years back I found Ed to be sweet and sincere but not anyone I would think capable of making a difficult decision. David has a rod of steel running through him.

Personally, I'd like to see Yvette Cooper step up but it looks like she has made a pact with hubby that it should be him. I don't think he is nearly half as bright as she.

As for the other two main parties I can't see who would be a credible leader now.
