How did you spend Christmas last year?

For me I had a crazy night out, went to a club/pub party. Ended up hooking up with a lady and spending the night in Bristol. Got back to Bath after 3 pm on Christmas day and then met up with a beautiful French woman in a hotel in Bath. Loads of fun.

How about you lot, how did you spend it last year?

Mayfair

I would guess that last year, just as is it this year, there were probably quite a few people on their own, either through illness, self-isolation, loneliness, key-worker 'syndrome' and other endearing but unfortunate circumstances.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

I was in a bubble with friends last year. Was nice.

Exactly the same as we are this year.

Currently lay in bed in a stunning barn conversion in the Cotswolds.

At least we actually managed to get away this time after 3 earlier trips cancelled.

I was alone at home as we were in lockdown. I made a Xmas dinner, had wine and nibbles later on that night while watching Netflix. I don't do xmas but I loved every minute of it last year being at home by myself as it meant not having to see my negative mother. Now this year, I'm at hers because it was expected of me and I just want to go home. I'm not in a good place right now x

Just the two of us as a last minute tier 4 lockdown was imposed on us due to the delta variant spreading very fast. It meant that we couldn't see either of our children or my very elderly mum or dad.

London

I spent it being angry and bitter that I could be in a supermarket, at work with customers and colleagues but my time with my grandchildren was cancelled. It nearly ended the last fine threads of my sanity.

Weren't hotels closed apart from essential working?

North West

Our Christmas last year was largely normal because my Dad was in our "bubble" and the rest of us live in our house anyway. For years (until this one, actually), it's been we 4 plus my Dad. On Christmas morning, my brother called in for about 10mins (which was permitted) and we had a quick exchange of gifts then the rest of the day was us watching TV, Christmas dinner and trying to stop my Dad from trying to go home all day.

This year, Mr KC, our daughter and me are in a hotel in Tenerife. Our son is with his paternal grandparents and my Dad will be visited by my brother tomorrow.

Newry Down

Last Christmas was very significantly worse for me; I had lost my main job mid year and my activities were significantly restricted through injury.

Furthermore, the facility I used was closed to me because of Covid-19 restrictions.

This year I learned to adjust, become more resilient and self-reliant and prepare for any future disruptions to my life.

Covid-19, which I had about two years, has very radically changed my plans and my attitude to life.

I consider myself to be a different person!

Last year I was dog sitting for a friend who was out of the country visiting family. Cooked dinner to a soundtrack of Megadeath and Iron Maiden on shuffle. Wasn’t so bad!

So your friend. I’m lockdown, was traveling? Again, in lockdown. Something seems odd

Last Christmas was a lot better than the Xmas before.

I spent the day with my children.

This Xmas is going to be even better than the past 2.
