"I hate the finality of certain things in life... It's my last day at a job I've thoroughly enjoyed every second of. Unfortunately I was on a fixed term contract that has come to an end, otherwise I would have loved to stay. Been showered with genuine praise and best wishes today, with examples of how I have helped out my team members during my tenure and which has reminded me of my value and contribution (something I needed reminding of as I start thinking about job hunting again!). I've just wrapped up my last handover task and there's officially nothing left for me to do... My heart feels heavy " . Sorry to hear that that a job that sounds like you like and are good at is coming to a end it’s a shame your current employer couldn’t find a way to extend the contract as this is the worse time to find yourself out of work.Hopefully a good reference and adding this job to your current CV together with some of your achievements with the company will help you land a new job for 2022.Best of luck.

"As the sun goes down on this particular chapter in your life. Take what you have learned. And start the next chapter with the confidence that you can do what you need to do and be a valuable and respected member of any team or group that you wish to lend your talents to." Thank you I have definitely realised that I do have skills that are very valued which is nice

"I know this feeling OP. I was a Christmas temp in a job I absolutely loved. Met some amazing people and it came to an end yesterday. I’m gutted. X" Aww I'm sorry it's a sinking feeling isn't it x

"Actually doing something you love and enjoy, with people who you like and they valued your input is heartbreaking. This may sound a bit flippant at first, but my favourite job that I did as a teenager was a bin man. It was over Christmas as well. I’d get on the wagon, have a laugh with the lads, empty bins, bit of cheeky chat with the householders, tips (bit of extra money always helpful and just do a no pressure job, once the round was done, home and bath. No emails or pushy boss looking over what you’re doing. A simple life and plenty of exercise as a bonus. When they laid us off after that contract ended I was gutted. " Ah sounds so nice and uncomplicated!! I had a job during uni that I worked around my lectures; it was technically office based but I was out and about all day meeting clients. Loved the constant change of scenery!

"The good news is that if they are looking for someone in future it sounds like you'd be top of the list. It's amazing when you find a job you really like, but there are literally millions of jobs out there and this experience will help you narrow down what really works for you in order for you to find another great fit. Take time to feel sad but then come back and find something spectacular to move to " Thank you, yes I'm taking next week off and in the new year focusing my efforts on nailing down exactly what I want to do. Don't think I'll ever find another company like them though, they were fantastic
