Off the back of another thread. What was the first bit of kit you used to listen maybe even record music with?

I can remember putting the transistor radio on and placing the microphone plugged into my cassette player to record dave cash on capital radio.

Or playing a stack of 8 45s on my parents HMV gramophone...

Or my garage band recording onto left and right tracks on a new fangled stereo cassette player...

Tech has moved on just a tad since those heady days!

We had a wind up gramophone in the early 60s that we used to play 78s on. Eventually we got a radiogram for 45s. We were always picking fluff off the needle . In primary school a boy brought in a cassette tape and a polystyrene tile one day as examples of cutting edge tech.

My Dad won an 'all in one' tv/radio/cassette. We recorded some music from tv onto cassette. I still have a few of those from my childhood.
