When is the last time...

.... you did something fun just for yourself!

I often have people say to me they feel a bit flat or like they have nothing to talk about or they feel bored. Same old thing just a different day. And when I ask them when they last did something fun for themselves they struggle to answer. Of course covid has made it harder to do some things though.

It's so easy to get caught up in the routine of eat, work, sleep, and repeat. Easy to accept invitations from others to go out etc. But it's even easier to go months without doing something YOU love doing.

Maybe it's a gig, maybe it's an art gallery, a walk, painting a picture, maybe it's something you'd never tell anyone you liked doing.

So when is the last time you did something fun just for you?

And if it's been months and far to long are you going to do something about it (covid allowing of course)?

My last one was the tate gallery. What was yours?

I went for a weekend away !

Pure indulgence.

And I'm going to V&A soon

Love Tate too.

It's so important to nurture the soul isn't it.

yeah there

Just for me, hmmm! A good question. Most of my pleasure comes in doing stuff for or with other people but what they want/like.

Going to have to actually think about what i'd want selfishly just for me.

Stirling

I recently went to see the Nutcracker ballet - it had been so long since we were able to go to theatre and after recently losing my grandmother I thought I’d keep up our Christmas tradition, she took me to the ballet every year since I was a kid. It was magical and I felt in a little world of my own for a couple of hours xx

I guess the biggest amount of "me" time is spent running. I love running with her ladyship but when I want to train faster pace or longer distances/bigger climbs etc I go alone. I probably don't think of it as a treat as much as I should.

Wakefield

All the time, but for me it’s little things. The other night I laid on the settee just listening to music. So relaxing.

We haven't decided yet. I was eyeing it up though. More focused on photography ones due to my companions profession.

Worthing

Went to Wembley to see AC/DC. Only gig I ever attended on my own. It was great and they were better than when I saw them in my teens.

Devon

I had my nails done this morning.

Wednesday afternoon, I switched work around to create a couple of hours free and took off for a drive in the country and coffee with someone.
