Gravy, bread, the two together.

Do you dip?

Do you mop up?

Does the bread type matter?

I would never mix bread and gravy. That's what Yorkshire puddings are for.

But if we're talking some sort of stew or sauce I'd use a toasted pitta bread to mop it up

Banal enough?

Pittas? I’m sorry but I can’t possible allow that as a suitable dipper. Where’s the soaking up ability of it? Nowhere to be seen.

I have never dipped bread in gravy

Meat = gravy

Soup = bread

Meat + gravy + bread = Banging sandwich.

Give it a whirl, you’ll thank me for it.

Oh, I don’t know about this. Doesn’t the gravy go all cold on contact with the bread?

I’m not the greatest mixer of foodstuffs

When I have bread with gravy it’s usually the last thing I eat on the plate and I use it to clean the gravy of my plate crusty bread is best for this and soft on the inside.

In the middle

My method is to lie the bread in the gravy and let one side soak it up, then I flip it so the other side mops up whatever is left
