I've lived a fairly dull, safe, pleasant life so have very few anecdotes worth telling. My husband has lived a far more interesting one and has loads of stories. I find them massively entertaining.

One of my favourites is that before he moved in with me he was living with his best friend and another flatmate. The flat wasn't very warm so in winter they often sat around in sleeping bags playing on computers.

My husband dropped something under the computer table and bent down to retrieve it. He was accosted by the smell of kippers. He looked around for an old plate but couldn't see one. Then thought about it and realised no-one had eaten kippers recently. The smell reappeared when the other flatmate sitting right by his head rearranged her legs in the sleeping bag.

My husband has never run out of somewhere so quickly

Still makes me chuckle
