Do you ever look in the mirror or at a photo and think that isn’t you? That the image you have of yourself is different to what you see? Is that even normal?

Sometimes yeah. Sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad way.

Yip.

I see myself about 3 stone heavier in photos.

Yes often, but I do have body dysmorphia. I find it really difficult to understand the differences

The most recent pic I took in a mirror makes my arse look amazing. Which it isn't. So...

Remind me to give it a squeeze if we get to meet again.

Yeah, I do. Look different in the mirror than I do in photos...

I look at photos and in the mirror and I look smaller than what I see myself. It’s really messing with head, what do I actually look like?!

Yes very often! It's something I struggle massively with as I have no idea what I actually look like. I have body dysmorphia so it plays on my mind in a very nasty way.

Yep, sometimes. In my head I'm still a size 30 so I have to do the mental readjustment when I see photos of myself and think ah, maybe I'm not that size any more. Even when I attended a recent event I was surprised and happy when I saw myself in the mirror.

I'm getting better at seeing myself for who I am physically.

In certain lights I look way better and younger. I believe that is the real me and the old hag that appears in the other mirror isn't

Yep, I'm struggling with the weight gain coz I'd finally got used to seeing myself small.

Now it's a shock every time and I can't believe I've let myself get like this again

It's a proper struggle OP, I can't offer any advice except if you look better in photos use those rather than a mirror, when getting ready to go out etc

When I'm cross or stressed, it's not a healthy look for me to see so I avoid mirrors at those times

When I get my arse in gear and loose weight I find myself being surprised by the change but once your eyes catch up you feel white again. I have been white haired for some years but it is pure white now and that scares me when I look in a mirror

I've stopped looking in the mirror for too long, it causes me to pick at things that don't need picking at. I know that I will never see myself as others see me. When I look at my photos I see a confident person but in reality that's just not me.

It depends on the angle I take my picture at. I think I have a good side and I know I have a bad side so I stick to the good side x
