Are they getting more stupid?

Just had one that said they were an unwanted call blocking service that I'd supposedly registered with, but couldn't understand that if I was registered with them, I wouldn't be getting a call from them. Very bizarre conversation followed

Had one on for ages, even subtly called him a bastard when I questioned him about his parents. Eventually I told him my internet wasn’t supplied by BT, so it wouldn’t be disconnected if I didn’t send him a payment.

Maldon and Peterborough

I normally let them waffle on and at the end I ask them to hold on whilst I get a pen and paper to write some notes.

Then make them go through it all over again.

Get a phone with call screening, the one where you have to announce who you are before the phone will even ring. Cold callers won't do it. Not had a single one since I got them.

My worry is that eventually scammers will get better. I have seen through tons of them over the years but they are bound to get better at some stage. Scum

I once worked for a company that gave us a phone book, told us the page number to phone people from. They were selling timeshare and another one kitchen units.

They also gave us loads of wine during the shifts, seemed to help us.

Looking back was totally illegal but was young, scint n naive. Of course the owners of the companies knew exactly what they were doing.
