It's only a training bike and going through tubs like condoms - this was a bit of grit - made a clean slice.

All repaired, will buy continentals for next year me thinks.

No longer a cyclist myself but my son had a phase of going through tubes every week with his BMX bike.

I was going to buy blades which sit between the tube and the tyre but I was advised to buy special reinforced heavy duty anti-puncture tubes. Thank goodness. it was costing me a small fortune!

my anti puncture tubes lasted 5 days ! £35 quid .. bargain !

I've solved the puncture problem on my bike..I simply removed the tyres....hey its a bit rattley...but who's laughing when I'm riding past ya fixing ya punctures at the side a da road...

Oh dear.

I was also advised to keep his tyres fully inflated as they need to be ... so got a pump that runs off the car lighter socket for my car tyres and his bike ones.

Have never seen the advantages of tubs ??.... used to work for a local custom frame builder and our race team were always repairing tubs ..... still love my road bikes but with tubes in rather than tubs

same way i dont see the point of tubeless mountain bike tyres apart from losing a nats tit of weight !!! ...

been out with plenty of lads with tubeless tyres and when they get a puncture, how do they fix it out on the trail ?? ... yep .... fit a tube !

Ride to work every day on road and cycle tracks. Tyres that are wide enough for a tractor reinforced with chain mail. Thick tubes from recycled wellies each with a gallon of slime sloping about in them.

I still get punctures but the slime usually gets me home.

Most of the time its from glass smashed by the scroats who hang about on the dimly lit cycle tracks. Glass on the roads seems to get crushed to little bits by the traffic.

Get away from the city on my road bike and hardly a problem.

Still wouldn't give up my bike

You can still ride on a flat tub.

I get a better feel for what's going on and on a fast twisty downhill it really is a benefit.

Tyre change is fast too (if you got a spare), just pull off the rim and shove on the replacement.

No tyre levers or spazzing around with a tube.

It's on a pressure test overnight 180psi hee hee

Tubs = tubulars glued into place.

I thought paying £400 for my sons BMX extortionate, but my daughters partner spends thousands on his cycles and equipment, he uses one of his bikes in Edinburgh daily. he's the sort that takes his on the plane when he goes on holiday. xx
