See if they show up & on time.

Do a heat check, eye contact is usually enough for me.

Ask if they are a serial killer.

See how they react to the question.

To make sure their cock measures correctly. I take a measuring tape to every social. If you say you're 6" when you're actually 7" then you can just get in the bin.

For me its to see if there is chemistry and attraction in person.. people can come across very differently online in my experience so meeting with no expectations takes the pressure off. I'm looking for more fwbs so I need to be able to like/have a laugh with them before anything sexual happening

"What do people think the main reason to hold a social is?"

The clue is in the name. That’s the main reason. Go with no expectations of anything else and any connections or otherwise is a bonus. Oh and they are usually a pre social to a club night up here so a good icebreaker.

Some people are happy to have play with anyone that comes along and their is nothing wrong with that when everyone consents.

For others that is not the case there needs to be attraction or something there before play can be considered, so a social meet gives the opportunity to meet and see others for real.

Perhaps I didn’t word it quite right I was thinking a fab members general social at a pub etc.

He reason I ask is if someone is organising one sets the acceptable age in a narrow bracket isn’t this someone looking for a playmate for their self rather than a fun get to know one another general meet.

I suppose the answer is if I don’t like it organise one myself.

A social is to meet someone

I seldom like to just jump into bed with someone I need to meet and greet and see if I like someone first.

My very best meets have developed from a social.

We recently attended the Manchester social and it was a wide mix of ages, good mix of guys, gals, couples and people who identify in different ways. It was bloody ace and I wouldn't like there to be any restrictions on the ages etc.

The purpose was to have fun, meet like minded people and socialise among (hopefully) non judgemental folks.

Would you still have sex with someone it the WOW factor wasn’t there? The way you said ‘ensure’ it’s there implies that you have to have it to take things further. Would you not be interested in someone if you liked them but didn’t like them enough for there to be a WOW factor?

Personally I don’t need there to be a WOW factor for me to have sex with someone

I've hosted group socials for years, all hosts are entitled to place whatever restrictions they want on them, we do it for the craic, not profit.

My rules are that they have to be verified by a single woman or couple and I decide based on their communication.

So many ask to attend a social in a pub on a Sunday afternoon and attach dick pics.

Single men bombard me with messages about coming to socials and most don't turn up and don't let me know.

Some of them are too scared to even enter the pub and ask me to meet them outside but none of the single women do.

I've had a couple of socials that were genuinely pretty fucking frightening from a safety aspect.

Imagine that had been in an isolated environment where I couldn't just get up and walk away or didn't have the public around me.

Yes, people can not take no for an answer once they've got you on your own, so socials aren't foolproof in that respect, but if they ain't taking no for an answer or behaving disrespectfully or inappropriately in public that's a pretty huge red fucking flag.

Free coffee. And cake.

To see if someone I talk to online will get on with me face to face.

"I've had a couple of socials that were genuinely pretty fucking frightening from a safety aspect.

Imagine that had been in an isolated environment where I couldn't just get up and walk away or didn't have the public around me.

Yes, people can not take no for an answer once they've got you on your own, so socials aren't foolproof in that respect, but if they ain't taking no for an answer or behaving disrespectfully or inappropriately in public that's a pretty huge red fucking flag."

Well that's crap. I thought group socials were supposed to be a friendly, safe environment. Are we just talking sausage fest then?

"A group forum social

Ah usually a way for forum friends to meet up. Sometimes new people go and can make friends that way.

Depends on the social really. Some are very cliquey and some are very friendly.

I don't know why so many people suggest socials as a way to get veris and meet people. -As many socials are filled quickly with existing friend groups who won't talk to newbies.

We went to the Manchester social at the weekend. I think I'd met in person three or four of the other hundreds of attendees? We had an absolute blast, got to know people we hardly knew existed before. Absolutely nothing cliquey at all, in my view. "

Hundreds?.... .....that's me in the corner with my back to the wall..

Is that the only one you've been to?

I found the MLS people really friendly the times that I went.

The only big group one, yes. Had small scale socials before with maybe 10-12 people, down to 1:1.

"To ensure that the WOW factor is there! Which is invariably apparent from the eye contact, followed by the uncontrollable mutual desire to be touchy feely with each other when you instantly know that you are both mentally undressing each other.

Would you still have sex with someone it the WOW factor wasn’t there? The way you said ‘ensure’ it’s there implies that you have to have it to take things further. Would you not be interested in someone if you liked them but didn’t like them enough for there to be a WOW factor?

Personally I don’t need there to be a WOW factor for me to have sex with someone "

To be honest if I don't actually fancy someone, they have more chance of raising The Titanic, than what makes me smile, as I dry myself down whilst looking in the mirror after taking a shower, although it doesn't happen very often. You would be surprised how many guys I know feel the same way. Even when I've played with lady friends as a couple at parties, or same room fun with another couple, it's invariably been agreed that although the girls can always take one for the team, if one or other of us didn't fancy someone, neither of us would play, and I always respected that. We would have a special word or phrase to get the message across to each other whether it was going to be a goer, or a non starter.
