Swinging vs NSA sex

Swinging... When someone has no strings attached sex with another person or people for fun.

NSA sex ... When someone has no strings attached sex with another person or people for fun.

Why then do some people seem to think that by saying what they are doing is 'swinging' and therefore more respectable/ worthy/ a lifestyle/ etc?

And some people look down on people that are 'just' having NSA fun as it is apparently not respectable/ unworthy/ just picking people up from pubs or websites for sex...

I seriously don't understand the difference... The hypocrisy... Cognitive dissonance... ??!!

There is no difference in reality. I prefer the term recreational sex as this covers, I believe, all intentions in this environment. I have sex with a single lady and we are great friends we are not in love but I have deep feelings for her. Equally I have turned up a couples house had sex with the lady and left as it was part of the fantasy of that couple.

This is a sex orientated site make no mistake!

There is no difference really. However, "some" would say swingers are disgusting, less likely to use protection and go with strangers. Yet "some" people wouldnt bat an eyelid at someone going down the pub on a weekend, getting pissed and going home with a stranger. Now that is hypocracy

that may be the way you see it... I see it slightly differently

some people will see it as "just sex" and some people will see it as a "big community of like minded people".....

...and this brilliant thing about this "community" is that you can be as big or as small a part of it as you like, and that in the end is up to you....

I have seen this "community" do some brilliant things and see some amazing acts of human kindness come from it....

I have seen marriages, births, deaths and divorces and people have rallied round others when times have been hard...

as i said... you can emmerse yourself in it... or just dip in a toe... but the one thing I hope that people don't do is disparage people because they may look at it as more than "just sex"........

as example of that would be the mcmillian coffee morning idea, the amount of socials where money has been raised for charities....

if you just mentioned the name "alfie"... to a lot of people who have been here for a lot time it will bring up a myriad of emotions....

the great thing is, you can get involved or just dip a toe... that is no right or wrong...

Fabio a good point well made but we could link the community theme to anything and as this community primarily rely on sex as the cohesion is it pushing that point a little? I am a member of the Georgian Society but I do not speak withe others on line about recreational sex.

I have noticed that we as humans will always try and define what it is we are doing, always try to put a label on it and that isn't always possible. We try and go along doing our own thing we only call it swinging because that's the term that other people use. Some would say we are immoral, some would say we're just having fun and we say don't try and put us in a pigeon hole just let us be

I could be wrong, however, I have been informed in the past that "swinging" means having someone to go back to, as in "swing back to", hence singles are not swingers as such.

I'd heard it the other way round, which is why I'd asked really. Swingers thinking that they are cool for being swingers yet people meeting for NSA being somehow disgusting. They both seem the same to me.

Agree about the community Fabio. It can be fantastic.

Also it can be cliquey. And before I get jumped on, I want to say lots of different groups can be cliquey!

up to a point.... yes it is the thought of sex that brings people here, and I would be stupid to deny that...

however when they get here, I bet they then vere in a million and one directions..

some will want to get to know people, some will like the social sides and so will just want the sex..... bi, straight, greedy girls, orgy, gangbang... ect ect ect......

and thats why I think of it more as community as it is so expansive there is something for everyone....

we don't think people meeeting for nsa sex are disgusting, it's only one part of their personality and lifestyle and doesn't wholly define their character any more than what we do defines ours.

The only sexual actvities we think of as disgusting are non-consensual whatever age or sepcies is involved.

Again a good point well made!!!! (I keep saying that!!) Sex is not disgusting if its consensual and of legal founding. We seem to be getting hung up with symantics. NSA and Wsing have the sma out come people meet in a recreational environment and more often than not sex takes place (in whatever form) Recreational sex, like garlic bread, its the future!

Equally I would hope that people don't disparage those who do see it as 'just sex', without feeling the need or desire to dress it up as a community.

How many would have joined this 'community' if it wasn't for the no strings sex?

That's a curious one, it comes across as saying single people can't be swingers, but just have NSA sex

Does that imply that only couples can be swingers?

Yes. It has been mentioned many times in the forums that swinging is (apparently) for couples only. Singles are not swinging. Or so some people think.

It's just a play on words though. I don't really mind either way as I'm not a swinger (in my eyes). I play as part of a couple and also on my own.

I don't need or want a label. I just like mass debate.
