Puts on rail replacement busses and does rail engineering work the weeks before Christmas when everyone needs to get into the city/town. What a joke. So my Christmas shopping day has now been spent doing 4 hours on a bus instead of 90 mins on a train. Grrrrrr

The first rule of disruption planning, is to plan to do it when it will be most disruptive

People who have to do engineering work I guess. I mean, just a guess, but I imagine that you know, it needs doing... Sorry for your inconvenience, can't give rail maintenance December off in case you need to shop though.

That is awful. Every minute is precious at this time of year.

What if it was essential maintenance to carry out a repair.. or safety critical work to keep the train on the tracks?? Dunno about you but I don’t really want to see a catastrophic train derailment on the news whilst tucking into my turkey!!

yes it’s inconvenient, but I don’t think “they” do it deliberately… just food for thought!

My take on this.

Weve just had a virus situation crews could have been staggered for work being done.

Dosnt matter what job they do crews can stagger there work.

I know alot of rail track has been delivered and as long as the crews was staggered for fitting and injections if they wanted it.

But all crews could have used a rotation system and that includes in many industrys.

Buiding trade has had to do so why cant other trades.

I’ve calmed down now and I see your points. It was just annoying at the time and a minor inconvenience especially stuck on a bus for 4 hours!!!! However I’m home with Christmas music on and wrapping the presents I’ve bought. Just needed a rant at the time.
