Yes I did this for about six months. It got hairy at times but we have ended up friends and Co parented for about 10 years mostly without problems.

I continued living at the same address as my ex wife for a number of painful months after we separated.

Eventually I cracked and ended up homeless for a while. Bad days gladly now behind me.

it’s not a situation I’m personally familiar with but going from the story’s I’ve heard and common sense I’m not sure there is much hope !!

Sometimes I think it’s be easier for me to up and go but I can’t leave my kids.

I did this for year's with my ex hubby. I had my own room downstairs. We both dated and would have nights that we would make ourselves scarce.

It worked till I got a serious partner and he got jealous

La la land

Did for a week together, then we house shared for a year until I found a new property. I couldn't afford to keep the kids home so I bought a new one which they see as much as home as their old one. It was scary to leave but was the best decision in the long term for me and my kids.

Yep, since January. Initially with lockdowns, bubbles and everything else, we decided to stay in the same house until the summer. It's had It's moments but it's been OK, it's just neither of us knew how hard and long it would be for me to find somewhere. From the 14th of Jan I'll be out with the kids 50/50. In all honesty I think it has worked well for the kids, there wasn't a sudden jolt, it's kind of trickled in.

I (male) did it for a year until we managed to sell the house and go our separate ways. Fortunately it was a large house and we were able to live separately. Would be difficult in a small house with kids.

Yes, for over 2 years now.

Luckily it was amicable, we are still friends and there is plenty of room for me in the house. It's still really tough though.

In some ways it's actually been really beneficial, financially I'm better off and there is always someone around when the other wants to go on dates or something. Just annoying neither of us can have someone around (we decided that would be disrespectful)

But, I'm so looking forward to getting my own place after April, and then be able to offer to accommodate.

Yeah the financial side is one of the things I guess holding me back. I just wish he’d meet someone and see there is life after me. It would make things a whole lot easier x

Did it for a couple of years, our own bedrooms and bathrooms though. Sometimes it makes sense if you get on well amd are both happy with the situation until you sell etc , saves a lot of cost and work , worked ok for us , we just agreed not to bring any lovers home and tended to take it in turns at having weekends away so always someone around to feed the cats!

I discovered the internet whilst going through the separate bedroom scenarios before going on to separate houses, that's going back to before fab was even founded. Fortunately I had the use of company houses to play in until I got my own. Every job has its perks!

I continued to live with my ex-husband for about 3 years after we separated.

It wasn't easy but no way was I leaving him in the house I mostly funded. He moved in with his brother once he realised I had met someone else, and it was getting serious.

I wouldn't recommend it...

Me and my wife kind of turned the upstairs into a flat for me. We had a 3 bedroom house so we turned one bedroom into a living room and one into a kitchen. I used the front door which led directly to the stairs and the wife used the rear which went directly into the kitchen.

We did this for about 18 months but both had a key for the door from the original living room to the hall. It was difficult still living in the same house but it kind of worked.

We now live 5 miles apart, sorted the finances and we're both still good friends.

Yes, have done twice before. It wasn’t too bad, was a means to an end and only for a few months. Amicable aswell. I was never at home a lot and the house was big enough so we didn’t get in each other’s way really, barely saw each other. But was definitely relieved and much happier when I was out of the situation.
