Waking up early on a Sunday, thinking it's a Monday just for an instant, then realising it is actually Sunday and going back to sleep with a grin.

Pembrokeshire

waking up having slept well with a couple of hours to the alarm so you can snooze again for a bit

hot shower, lots of soap and shampoo, clean towel, nice clean clothes

hot coffee, and bacon sandwich for breakfast

the kind of day when you have enough to do so as not to be stressed or bored

living your best life

Your time will come .

I thought that at your age but due to a series of bad luck coupled with incredible good fortune (crazy I know) we both retired at 57.

Nothing beats resigning, and seeing the look of confusion on your boss’s face, thinking they might just be able to bullshit you and get you to stay, realising that you were actually serious when you had raised concerns (that they then did fuck all about), and responding to the “is there anything we can do to persuade you to stay” with the word “no”. Walking out of that conversation feeling about 2 stone lighter ...

Holding the one you love in your arms as you fall asleep... well apart from the dead arm, the mouth gull of hair and the awkward hard on

I did thanks! Couple of months ago. Gave them every opportunity to sort things out, then once I quit they pretended that they would now do the things I had flagged. Nah, too late, had your chance.

Felt great. A bit sad that things hadn’t worked out but elation that the things that had been winding me up would soon go away.
