Give me petty family squabbles, belly laughs, mums cooking, the same dated decorations, dads shit jokes and stumbling in at 2am Christmas Day with my brother trying not to wake everyone while we make cheese on toast anytime.

Nafferton, nr Driffield.

It does seem that family does come first as over the years I have noticed that around Christmas the swinging scene goes quiet. Then around mid January suddenly everyone wakes up and normal shagging resumes......

We celebrate Christmas on the 24th so I could squeeze in a Fab Christmas on the 25th.. Although it'll only be me because everyone else will be with their family.. Hm I didn't think that through did I?

Don't have a lot of choice as I'm also my mums carer who has vascular dementia and athrites in both knees leaving her virtually wheelchair bound. I wouldn't be spending Christmas without her being part of festivities for anything though.

Meh, I'll take the Fabbers.

I don't celebrate Christmas anyway so the 25th means nothing to me.

Besides I'm pretty sure winter orgies are historically accurate unlike Santa and/or Jesus

"Unless you are a lying bastard or your family are the worst surely it got to be family "

Neither applies, my parents are dead, my sister lives over 300 miles away, my brother lives over 30 miles away, I have only seen them twice in the last 20 years - funerals of my mum and older brother.

I have no interest in visiting my elderly aunts or uncle or any of my other relatives wherever they are.

They are not bad people but I have absolutely nothing in common with any of them and no reason to want to see any of them.

I consider friends to be more important. These are the people you want to know not the ones you were given no choice on.

Very sorry to hear that. I'm not Norman Bates by any stretch of the imagination, and my mum is not going to be into a granny farm to vegetate, but I am also acutely aware of the fact that things won't be quite the same without mine when that happens to me, so my heart kinda goes out to you at this moment in time.

Being as I don’t particularly enjoy Christmas, can I say I’d rather just be alone. I’m not really one for the family thing, and I don’t want to sour anybody else’s day, so I think ld just indulge a hobby in my own company, and let the world spin on it’s crazy axis for the day.
