Don't use my licence anymore.

Most of the headline amounts of earnings will include overtime, nights away any other benefits.

They won't mention needing to do weekends and the maximum number of hours.

I had 3 pay rises in 9 months and doing OK wage-wise, the last being 3 months ago. But nobody should ever believe the quoted salaries in the media. I'm still seeing jobs listed paying £12 p/h

I've let my medical lapse at 45 and 50, could I still get my licence back easier now..

Anyone got any good advice

Just get a medical, and do 35 hours of dcpc training (5 x 7-hour classroom based sessions), and you're good to go.

Most of us are not making the kind of money that is quoted in the newspapers. Some agencies are advertising high hourly rates but it's usually for the worst kind of work and only ad-hoc, last minute stuff and not regular
