I suspect they have some sort of machinery that does it. I've never seen the point myself just give me a decent olive or six and some tomatoes and I'm happy

I have no idea, there's not much that isn't mechanised in mass production of food though

I have consulted Prof Google.

Previously it was done by hand but in the 1960s it was mechanised. High end stuffed olives are still hand done but the ones plebs like me eat are done by machine

The fishes inside the olives are the same ones that swim up men's urethras. They can be trained to swim into different orifices instead

The anchovies see the hole in the olive as a moist warm haven to slide into but when they get in they suffocate and die....
