Although for those who receive hundreds of mails this won't be one they are itching to reply to i would guess.

Personally? No. I probably would reply. I rea rely se let or ignore.

*what my reply is, it would vary on what mood I was in. If it was someone I kind of knew, I would obviously be more pleasant.

The odd thing is, (not odd really) is that some people are okay with ice breakers and small talk and others struggle.

Hi, how are you? is lovely from a pretty girl who seems nice.

Now if it’s from a profile where his avatar is a cock next to a lynx can, not so much. It’s all about perception I suppose.

As a bloke on here whose daily message's could be counted on a very small hand i would be delighted to get any sort of message and reply accordingly,

However if i was sending a first email it would never be this as it is lazy, at least make an effort with the first

I believe you need to know somebody well to send this email, where you are generally interested in making sure they are ok
