18 sleeps to go … how prepared are you?

Just over 2 and a half weeks to the big day!! Wheyyyy

Where are you in terms of readiness for Christmas this year?

Are you a “get it all done early” sort of person or a “lave or to the last minute” type?

Are the presents all wrapped and ready or do you not even have a clue what you’re going to get people yet!?

I’m more than half ready I’d say : most presents bought but not yet wrapped. Most non perishable foodstuffs are bought and stored safely bur haven’t yet properly worked out what we need in terms of perishables. Decorations are mostly up ..

How about you?

Working 7 days a week does things to your head, I only realised it was December yesterday

I’m 0% ready. I might even be less than that

Luckily I’ve got like a decades experience in leaving it till last minute so I’m just gonna follow that pattern

Spain for Christmas.

Not buying one present, not putting up one decoration. Christmas is cancelled.

I'll still accept gifts and gestures of good will though.

Similar to yourself OP. I've decorated the fireplace, hallway, stairs and kitchen. No tree yet, going to get that sorted over the next few days. And I've not made my wreath yet! I have ribbon, apple slices and pheasant feathers ready to go.

Present wise, almost finished; just need to get a couple of little stockings presents. And then wrap them all which I absolutely love! My aim is to be all sorted and raring to go by next weekend, then I have a nice week of relaxing and doing seasonal things.

Biggest worry is this potential Tesco strike, snd the knock on effect with other Supermarkets if it goes ahead.

I've just got 20 Christmas cakes to ice, 30 pork pies to make, 200 mince pies and 2 truffle topped chocolate gateux, 50 giant sausage rolls and 30 giant pasties oh and a 60th birthday cake and then I can think about the stuff for us.

We are getting there...

Majority of gifts are bought and will be wrapped on the weekend... Mr NBVN is awesome at wrapping gifts.

Non perishable food and drink is bought. Just a very small shopping trip needed for fresh, which I plan to buy from a local farm shop.

Xmas tree is up... and the tree chocolates have all been demolished by us all.

A charitable donation instead of sending Christmas cards was sorted last night.

I like being quite organised and have even given myself a break from running to spend time on crimbo prep.

NBVN x

I’m usually super organised but having a 4 month old has made other priorities. All gifts are ordered, waiting for some personalised items, ie foot prints for grandparents etc but otherwise all here and around 50% wrapped.

Starting to prepare Christmas dinner too. Already made and froze the gravy, going to blanch and prepare all veg so I can spend the time with the family on the day

Not at all. Christmas doesn't mean much to me now, as I am not a person of faith, having abandoned all that four decades ago.

But it brings a smile to my face watching the delight of local children out on their new bikes.

It's a wonderful life!

Team early. Decs up, tree up, all prezzies brought, 90% prezzies wrapped. Already brought the pork sauage meat for my grandads receipe stuffing. - can't have Christmas if it's sold out on the shelf. I'm not cooking this year, but have to buy a few of the veggies to take for the host to cook.

Tree up and decorating done.

Gifts for outside the immediate family tend to be nice bits of food so even if it's last minute I can go to the corner shop and buy chocolate. Stuff for the kids mostly got. Might go to the charity shops and try to pick up some more books or the odd item of clothing for them. They get so much from generous grandparents that I don't bother getting them much.

Got a duck in the freezer and will pick up veggies and pigs in blankets from the market nearer the time.

Also got my eldest's birthday this weekend which I'm not yet totally prepared for. Bloody pain having a birthday in December. I blame his parents.

Most presents are wrapped.

Just got to buy one more thing, withdraw some money for the hard to buy for preteens and get cards.

Need to figure out what we need to buy food wise and then we're sorted.

East London

I have gifts to buy, and gifts I've already bought need wrapping.

Christmas delivery slot is booked; we need to amend it nearer the time, although I already bought the turkey and pigs in blankets.

The few Christmas cards I've written will be sent when this storm buggers off.

Might put my tree up later.

I'm very laid back about it all this year.

Bung them a bag of chocolate coins each and they will be angels next year. Don't let the puppy eat the chocolate..
