Seeing the social interactions between social group animals, i really sense the very real emotions and bonds between them and their hierarchies. Especially among wolves (the wolf being my spirit animal), i watched a documentary once about them and i burst into tears at the amazement of their social interactions.

It struck me so hard as i watched a young female within the pack fawning over a particular male who was one of a pair of male outsiders to the pack. She was darting back and fore between the alpha of the pack and this male outsider, the alpha staring them down, and the young female pining and pleading to the alpha to allow the courtship between her and her lover. It was the most beautiful interaction among animals i had ever seen, i just couldnt contain myself

I have a picture on my bedroom wall, split onto three wooden boards of the first sunrise of the New Year taken whilst I wild camped and it was incredible…I look at it often and it lifts me

As a keen photographer I've been lucky enough to witness some truly beautiful sunrise/sets. Northern light displays, clear night skies etc. Syke's landscape and glencoe still get me everytime too.

Gonna head up that way next month for a hike in the snow for my 40th.

That or bang out some mfm action, see what the forecast looks like for either nearer the time haha

The seas and oceans, one minute calm and beautiful but next minute ferocious, plus the amazing variety of sea life and fauna that live beneath the waves. Also, gazing up at the northern lights is just awe inspiring, makes everything else feel insignificant even just for a few hours.

I second this! It's so true. I had a conversation with a geneticist and in about 20 mins she completely changed my way of thinking. Every baby bump I saw after that conversation made me think think 'wow they made it' and smile.

Being very high up with vast sweeping views.

I love seeing far into the distance and that vast space just highlights how small we are in such a big world. I think going to outer space would blow my mind, how small our world is compared to the size of space.

Being somewhere with zero light pollution on a clear night and looking up at the stars. I saw some truly breathtaking views of the night sky when I was on exercise in the middle of nowhere in Croatia, with the moon illuminating the surrounding mountains as well. And it looks even more incredible when you look at it through night vision kit too. Makes you realise how small and insignificant we are.

Autumn - the reds/burnt sienna, green, yellow leaves on trees. Love the wash of these colours. Makes me smile.

The sheer scale and visual impact of epic places formed by nature such as the Alps and the Grand Canyon. Even more so at sun rise, and on a clear night sky with the expanse of stars. Impossible not to feel very small yet also very lucky, and when it comes to stars, of people loved and now lost.

My mum is from Scotland, when I was a kid I hated it because we’d go up there every holiday. (I was the only kid to come back paler than when he left from the summer holidays…)

Now, I go any chance I get. I drove from Glasgow to Inverness last year and Loch Lomand and other water beds were amongst some of the most beautiful things I’ve seen in my life.

My own pick would be water. I like that it’s usually so peaceful but is capable of so much destruction. Bruce Lee said water can flow, or it can crash. Be water.

Seeing the very beginning of human life. I was a surrogate mother. On screen, I saw the 4 cell embryo before they transferred it into me. So tiny you can't see it with the naked eye. Very fascinating and certainly once in a lifetime viewing occurrence.
