Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Interestng piece on Newsnight. The researcher plant has been paid just over £30 for two 8 hour days.

Highlighting the loop holes and just how business benefits, tax is lost and the workers are exploited.

Not a loop hole as such, just greedy people exploiting people with little or no money. But you are right very interesting.

It's particularly interesting when looked at against the other migrant story today. Rough sleeping migrants being rounded up and deported.

I really don't think the open labour market idea will get any traction. Especially not as an argument to ensure an end to exploitation.

Open market will never work, some people will always be used and abused. Limited migration has to be tried as countries need to self fund itself rather than see the money disappear aboard

The exploitation of anyone to seek gain is abhorrent to me.

Interesting bit for me was that the three people on Newsnight got in from 3 different bodies to comment were all in agreement on how to solve the problem. The authorities just need to enforce the rules already in place, but they don't (probably due to lack of resources).

Maybe the other route is to more publically highlight the hotels and hotel chains that exploit the illegal use of the 'self employed' loophole through the agencies they use.
