To be fair they could say they were looking for Elvis if they wanted to. Their profile, they can run it how they want (within rules). Just like you can with yours.

Each to their own, it's their profiles they can write absolutely anything they want. I love looking at profiles and never judge, but I love it when I find a contradiction. It's the can't travel and can't accommodate ones I love - how the hell are they supposed to get any action? Start a walking group for very local fabbers?

Touché - I wasn't judging them on what they've written, travel / accommodate are tick boxes, not their actual profile. That was just a general observation of the oxymoron of not being able to do either. Humor and me doesn't mix easily in the morning!

What is important to remember is that things on a profile are often there to disqualify and discourage people from messaging them

Often it's to put peo0le off.

If I say I can travel I get messages saying meet me now.. him in Edinburgh, me being in London.

If I say I can accommodate they think they can come round any time day or night.

I get the point OP is making in that the profile is a paradox unti itself. Now it can be a couple things maybe the person put in the wrong age- I had a woman message me and her profile said she was athletic when she sent me a oic, she was more like ample. She claimed it was a mistake on her profile and she didn't know she made it.

Then, like someone said, the person set it that way to avoid. This week I got messages from a lot of profiles stating "not looking for single men" so it's basically women trying to avoid 1000s of messages a day, and I can empathise with what women go through.
