While some celebs “leak” them to gain notoriety, the majority of them were released without consent and lets not even get into the whole phone hacking scandal that lead to the creation of groups trading them online as well as websites being set up specifically to host them.

Its an invasion of privacy for the most part, but then thats no different to a lot of the content tabloids froth at the mouth over.
