Nope. It doesnt cause offence any more than my Jewish friends wishing me happy Hanukkah or my Muslim friends wishing me eid Mubarak.

I also don't take offence at someone wishing me happy holidays though, as there are many different holidays I could be celebrating at this time of year. It's all good, all meant with positive intention.

I say “I wish you a healthy and prosperous New Year”. It’s a bit cheesy I know, but I’m very much aware that not everyone likes New Year so I try not to say “Happy New Year ” in case they tell me to do one.
