Hey guys. Mrs is struggling with her mental health, and body image at the moment.

Was just wondering if we could get some kind words in this thread for her?

Difficult if we don’t know her or her issues. Might a better idea (just a suggestion) be for you to describe how you support her and where you think you need help/affirmation

and let people see if they can help her by helping you?

She is beautiful but us all saying that probably won’t help. She needs some real support ((hugs))

I hope she's getting genuine help too xx

Yes she is very pretty but MH issues are not fixed by compliments and I'm not sure this this the forum for this

If your genuinely have an issue then there are plenty of better places to talk about issues than here

If your stuck pm me as I know people who work in this field and can advise the best way forward

Best of luck

Sorry to hear this. I think a lot of us are struggling at the moment. It’s the time of year.

As for body image. I can relate. But We are all beautiful and unique and sexy in our way. Fuck popular beauty standards.

Put your make up on and your sexiest outfit make yourself feel good. Only you have the power to change how you feel. Xx

Keep encouraging her to talk. I can’t imagine a bunch of “you’re so hot” type comments will improve what is probably a very complex issue for her.

Encourage her to be the best version of herself, not to concern herself with how others may see her.

You've said this before of other posts.

Maybe she'd benefit from some professional help instead. Your GP would be able to sign post you to your local talking therapy services.

This . I don’t see how actually asking people to say nice things would help to be honest as surely it’s not real? maybe it’s me but I just don’t get it. Hope tomorrow is a brighter happier day for her though

She is lovely mental health does go away with a compliment, i know from experience.

Depending on how she feels about her own body image a compliment may actually make her feel worse i know they did with me.

Being on here doesn't help with some mental health issues.

I hope she get help and wish you both the best.

OP be there for her and listen to her without judgement.

Without knowing how long your Mrs has felt like this, or how severe it is, it's hard to know if a few kind words would make any difference. Maybe a chat with her GP would be of more benefit.

I hope she feels better soon.

Very sweet thing your doing for her and she is gorgeous but she won't get here what she is allready being told via your messages I would of thought. She needs to get some professional help as I agree with the rest..getting it from a bunch of strangers won't help her especially if it's being asked of us..I know if it was me then I'd be greatful but also feel like they are only saying it becasue they have been asked to. Good luck though and I hope she gets what she needs. Xx

It's not a cure I am afraid. Maybe more of a plaster over the wound which is stubborn to heal. Need 'oxygen and cleaning' of.whatever is festering there.. and that would come down to: proper diagnosis and then appropriate meds, therapy, support and finally identifying your own self help tool box. Encourage that for real solutions. Fab won't fix anything.

On a positive note it's great you are looking out for your partner and trying your best to make her feel better. That's caring and definitely much needed. Don't forget to look after yourself too.

There are a lot of folks here with a wealth of experience with MH issues, not to mention a lot of sufferers too, myself included.

I know that if I’m struggling, vague compliments from strangers can actually make me feel worse. I tend to agree that getting actual substantial support and help is the best thing for her.

Getting pissy because people disagree with you isn’t a good look OP!

I do feel a little that you just wanted to see compliments and the MH aspect was an excuse maybe

I agree, I understand mental health more than you can imagine but kind words from people can only take you so far. If she has genuine body image issues, she needs to learn self love and acceptance. You can compliment people as much as you like but they will never truely believe it unless they feel it too. Just an observation but when your struggling, sometimes it's better to take a step back from here and do you for a little bit. Hope she's okay though OP.

Hey. I'm sorry to hear about her struggles. Mental health can be a scary monster.

Validation from online people might help, but is it going to last?

Just because others give us encouraging words doesn't mean that we'll believe it ourselves.. might be a good idea to seek some help from a professional, your gp could probably recommend someone.

All the best..

There’s 30 odd thousand folk if not more in here I’m pretty sure some have suffered from mental health issues or are indeed in a medical profession- you started a thread like this the other week too, which I did comment on.

Your Mrs doesn’t seem shy in her pics or concerned about her body but then images only portray what we want people to see - perhaps fab isn’t the place for her to be in that frame of mind and threads of this nature could lead to further insecurity

She’s a beautiful woman but Im not sure what a fab or two will fix if the issues run deeper - either way I hope she learns to love herself x

Busy bodies People on this thread have shown genuine care and concern and you have thrown it right back in their faces. What a disgusting attitude. Maybe your wife's MH problems are because of something going on very close to home. I hope she is getting full support from her closest loved ones but beginning to doubt that she could be.

Well, anyone suffering from MH issues should seek help.

In my experience a GP can be very understanding.

If you can afford it seek professional help as soon as you can rather than waiting for the NHS. It could be the best money you spend, better than some bullshit momentary relief purchase.

It's OK to not be OK...

I fully understand mental health as I've suffered with issues with mine for almost 20 years.

People have tried to be nice and help and this comment just throws it in their faces.

She's a beautiful looking lady and I hope she gets the help she needs. GP and counselling would be my advice as well as meds. Good luck

Absolutely stunning I hope you are feeling better soon lovely. I used to think I needed others to compliment me when I wasn’t feeling good about myself but it’s so much better when it comes from within yourself. Take time out to do things that make you happy and make you feel positive about yourself and don’t punish yourself for having a bad day. Everyday is fresh start and a chance to start over

MH issues are really complicated and complex and need to be treated professionally and compassionately.

I think the general consensus of opinion, from the outside, is that body dysmorphia referred to in the OP is from looking at the pictures on view unfounded.

However non of the respondents can be fully aware of why the lady feels the way she does.

Professional medical and emotional support should be sought and I hope the OP and his partner seek that advice as quickly as the current system will permit.

A fab forum is not the place to seek the required help.

And I'd be happy to give kind words on its own if you would NOT bring mental health into it! Can you see you did this to yourself or rather to her?

Busy bodies of the website give the best support based on the information the OP provides. You chose to mention mental health so i focused on that. Somehow it seemed more important than a shallow compliment...

All the best to lady of the pair. Hope you build yourself that strong.. you won't need external validation.

Maybe the male side of the couple is feeling under pressure and worried sick about his partner.

We could never know exactly what they've done to find help and if what they've sought, has worked for them.

Mental health doesn't effect one person, if living under the same roof.

Have a heart and think of the OP too - crikey just because of one comment.

Well I'm certainly not a doctor or psychiatrist but speak from experience. The OH has serious MH issues. I've had numerous occasions when I've been stood by her bed in A&E praying that she'll pull through from the overdose. Have you a local branch of Rethink or Mind where she can get some help? GPs and psychiatrists can prescribe drugs but it sounds like she needs someone to talk to and support her. I hope you find the support she needs, but please don't forget yourself. It's not easy for me to see my wife going through what she does, so make sure you've got someone to offload to.
