are generally on the forums so the idea of being blocked by those who are on them is laughable to me.

Of course I do my best not to leave bodies scattered around this place in my wake (laugh at that one) when I appear here.

BUT the threat of being blocked! Are you kidding!

(Be yourself warts and all and if that does need any refining? Do it for yourself!)

I don't give a hoot if I'm blocked on the more intimate side of fab either.

I’ll look at a random account that I’ve never interacted with in any way .. blocked. There’s no rhyme nor reason to it, maybe you’ve said something in the forums they don’t like, maybe you’re not their type and they don’t want you to message them, maybe it’s Sandra in accounts and she doesn’t want you to recognise her on here!

It doesn’t really matter in the scheme of things as if they’ve blocked you then you are clearly never going to be compatible or meet so it’s no loss to either party is it!

Reason for thread is I have noticed a few times what can be thought of as gangblocking or maybe 'group referrals' being done here

and held over others to force them into line.

Blocking is nothing but a positive feature on Fab. It seems the thought of anyone blocking you for any reason is upsetting you.

Coming from a person who DOES block people from the forum. It's those who are wildly inappropriate or ones who I've reported for having fake pictures. Or if it's someone that has started a thread asking for advice, I'll often share my thoughts but then block because I don't have time for that in my inbox.

So just reading through the thread with permission from other people, I’ve checked with them first, it seems you are saying that just one person has formed an opinion of you that you have found that others have blocked you also? So therefore you think there is ‘gangblocking’ (new word to me).

Are you suggestions that other people shouldn’t talk to other people about people that could potentially lead to aggressive attitudes, personal safety, time wasters etc?

I don't block people from the forums. If they are blocked it would only be because they messaged to meet me and I didn't want them accidentally messaging me again. I wouldn't know they used the forums.

I would prefer to meet people who I see or interact with on the forum. You get a feel for the person and their personality and most of the time know they can hold a conversation.

You find what difficult?

I see the forums as a place to talk about my/our surroundings or have a laugh (it has happened!) IF I wanted to meet others from here (as my focus) I would do things differently but I don't.

The one word I use most on here is consistency. That applies to how people portray themselves through their bio and pics. If they aren't consistent we won't be chatting.

Forum engagement is another layer of consistency. There are many amazing profiles with wonderful text and intriguing pics who become immediately ugly as soon as they open their mouths or post on the forums.

It's highly unlikely I will ever meet anyone who isn't on the forums because I get a more rounded idea of who they are and more importantly who and what they aren't by their forum engagement.
