Is it just me or are these usually a bit pants?

Just back from Manchester, bits of it corralled off with shonky metal fencing, stalls selling overpriced cheese and dodgy german sausages.

It all felt a bit meh...

I remember when the Manchester one first started out and it was great.

Over the years it has grown and grown and it's just too much now.

They are mostly pants. Tat, rolled in pooh and rolled in glitter.

There are only so many sausage sandwiches and plastic cups of mulled cider you can consume.

There are some actual quality items there...I have been told.

Liverpool's is better this year normally onats tho. Not a cheap scare I know your paying for the 'experience' but paying a 5iver for a rubbish watered down beer and 8 quidnfkr a German sausage is asking too much

We used to go to Lincoln Christmas market every year although I don't remember buying anything apart from hot drinks.

They're crap.

Overpriced tat, shit tasting beer and the only thing worth eating is a massive sausage but you do get a cup if you pay a kings ransom for some bland mulled wine

I don’t get the attraction. I’ve been once in my life, to Birmingham. It was overcrowded, which in itself is a problem for me. I don’t like mixing with muggles. Repetitive stalls selling vastly overpriced stuff. An expensive day out by the time I factored in rail travel and an overnighter.

This year was a little more sparse than usual, but I still had a fantastic day out.

I went to a couple of London ones and was very disappointed.

Overpriced food stalls in abundance, including Mexican and Asian, and only one selling Christmas chocolates.

The only thing that felt Christmassy was the little cabins covered in lights.

A hot chocolate with a dash of Amaretto was £8. So we bought a bottle of Amaretto on the way home for £8 and had them at home.

I wouldn't even consider Winter Wonderland.

I went to the one in Bath. it was beautiful to walk with a nice mulled wine. Yes the stalls are a bit pricey and there’s a lot that are quite samey.but I enjoyed it

I hate the sausage, glassware, wooden nik-naks, nougat, beer, costume jewelry and repeat fare offered at so many. It's all very samey, boring and overpriced. However used to like the Lincoln Christmas Market because you also have a diverse range of food seller's, games,charity stalls, tombola's and other intresting offering from individuals and local groups.

We were talking about how white they are. Lots of bollards around the town hall, somewhere for the d*unks to lean against when they are throwing up.

I only go to the Glastonbury frost fair which is actually quite good. All the usual Christmas stuff but the music and clothes are not your usual Xmas stuff.

The one that I remember being fantastic was Krakow. Not overly crowded, cheap and in a beautiful city

Lincoln main Christmas Market is usually lots of same old tat, silly hats, fake mulled wine etc. BUT the Historic Christmas Market (also on next weekend) is completely different - and easier to park, get to and around, being on the High Street, not up Steep Hill.

The one in Glasgow is usually quite good. I've not been to it for a few years now but they always had a lovely cheese stand, with a great selection and also pickles, chutneys and oatcakes to go with them x

Lincoln Christmas starts next Thursday - it will be shoulder to shoulder via a one way system for 4 days! It’s bloody madness of over priced food and Christmas goods and you won’t be able to park within a mile across those 4 days!

Nice atmosphere but best avoided

I used to go to Lincoln every year and used the showground park and ride and a few years ago, I just thought all I buy is hot drinks, so I just stopped, I can't say I miss it

Sadly I think the magic of them had wedding somewhat over the last few years. They have become a victim of their own success and once you've been a couple of times, i.e. over a couple of years or so, they become boring.

I quite like the little village ones, the ones held in churches etc. There are a couple of lovely ones near me that focus on independent sellers who produce their own items. One is more a farmer's market to be honest and I'm looking forward to going this weekend for some festive brownies, pies and mistletoe.
