Do you practice self care?

What do you do? If you don’t, do you think you should?

Do you class your yoga as self care too?

I do. Have Avery hot bath. Watch a bit of telly. Do some stretches. A bit of Pilates. Eat some chocolate. I’m easily pleased.

I try to, hot bubble baths with candles is my thing. It's the only time I can just switch off and just be.

Yes. If I'm doing self care then noone is allowed to talk to me unless it's an emergency. Noone is allowed to walk past dad and ask me for snacks or a drink.

During summer I like walking, 8 miles seemed to be the perfect number. No one in sight and just taking in that moment, not worrying about what housework needs doing.

I also enjoy steamy baths and then doing my skincare routine (that I do maybe once a month )

If I'm feeling in a people person mood but need to get away from little ones I will either go to my mums or brothers and have a chat, cuppa and play cards.

Not really, at the minute it just feels like I'm doing one thing after another to the point where I don't have time for it. I suppose going to the gym counts but the time it takes out of my day is still a big investment.

Exercise, stretches, yoga (badly for now), ensuring I get adequate sleep, unplugging from the world for a couple of hours to just do something I enjoy.

Those of you that have baths, do you add Epsom salts?

I do yes, you have to ensure mental health as well as physical health - they work together

I try to yes. Last few months have been tough. I find video games help me… “unpack”.

I don't do it as some kind of structured or special thing

Mostly, I eat well, sleep well, find time to relax each day and minimise the potential of stressors

My self care is working out, seeing as i had low self esteem due to my slender size and weight for most of my life. Now when i work out and start seeing these little gains its a massive confidence boost. Even if i get hot and sweaty and my body is aching like hell i know its all gonna be worth while

Hmmmm, not really as I find it too physical usually so if I need some time for me, then I find it too much.

If it makes sense?

All the time!

I live on my own and work is a slight interruption to my life.

It's frugal but I do almost everything with me in mind.

I've been massively neglecting this, and it's taking its toll on my stress levels. I need to start making time to look after me.

Silence is good, if you can sit with it

Yes.

Most things have a degree of self care in mind. The job that I do, what I do, who I see and how I interact on social media is all with self care in mind.

I exercise for physical and mental health, I write, I talk and I practice self management all for my mental benefit.

I’ve had crisis points in the past and what I do now is so that I’m in touch with myself and it doesn’t happen ever again

That’s really good, great to have that awareness
