One of the random things I have thought about is whether the type of man or woman you go for on fab would be the same as if you met them in the “normal world”.

In my experience as a curvy black girl, I have had men who approach me on here who would never approach me usually.

Or is it in fact that in the real world you’re too shy to express your true type?

For me I’ve never really had a type and always find I need to gel with someone and get a good vibe….as in the conversation doesn’t become dry!

I’m a confident guy in real life and will always make an approach to a woman who has caught my eye….through what she does not how she looks….you know….laughs, dances, drinks and eats good food (not into the calorie counters lol)!

On here I will always message but it’s rare I get a response but it doesn’t deter me and I will always read a profile over checking out the public pics!!

I would say, my real world type and fab type, i go for look physically the same. Once i get talking to someone though, on here, i find even though he's what i like looks wise, personality wise its a no match!

Mine is pretty much the same physically, as my past boyfriends have also been the type I’ve described on my profiles.

I guess age is where I’m a bit more open here!

My type is absolutely the same. I don't have a physical type when it comes to men, it's all about the conversation, humour and intelligence. With women I go for earthy zaftig types.

I do seem to attract a different type of guy on here to the ones I attract in the real world. I'd not thought of it much before but it's an interesting thing to consider, thanks OP!

Yep, pretty much the same. I don't have a physical type in the slightest but there are certain personality traits I find attractive and that applies in here and out of here.

In terms of people who are attracted to me, they tend to be attracted to me outside of here. Some of them wouldn't really act on that outside of here, you know being married and all that.

Not an aesthetic thing.

Yes but one thing changes and that's his height, I am 6ft 2 in heels and most men under wouldn't come anywhere near me, so all of my partners have been over 6ft in real life.

Fab life wise it's never mattered and 5ft 9 guys regularly approach me

My type doesn't change. Experience tells me that isn't the case for men though.

If I wanted to I could do really well on fab with lots of men and no doubt lots of fun but very often none of these men would want me in 'the real world'. I'm very much in the good enough for fun category but not for more a lot of the time.

I also think on here people often look for things they may not else where. For example they may want to try something different, older younger, different look to their usual type, bigger, slimmer whatever. This means sometimes you end up being a novelty at best or an experiment at worst!

There's no difference for me. I like curvy women. The sort of person I would approach on here is exactly the sort of person I would approach in real life. It's often the women who say they get more (or different) interest on here than in real life that I would be most likely to try flirting with in real life. Luke

No because there is not one type. I have few types. I was thinking of it recently whilst arranging socials and realising they all could not be more different. Not just looks wise. I know how I want to be treated and stimulated body and mind wise. And that's one common denominator. That's about it.

It's quite funny as you see a few ladies from here on the mainstream dating sites, and some of them I wouldn't tick like for from their real world persona, but let them loose with a FAB profile and they turn into serious contenders for my attention. I think FAB allows your mind to take over with the knowledge of what they're actually into, rather than real world where you can only go on looks and a vanilla description which is fair enough as everyone has to cast their net wide to appeal to the masses. In old school meet at the pub life, I'm drawn to many different types, but on any digital platform I suppose I'm more dismissive as you don't have the physical (as in actually in the room with a presence) attraction which comes from more that static Looks alone. Looks wise, I like what I like wherever I see it.

IRL I am just attracted physically - so tall, dark haired bearded men catch my eye mostly.

On Fabs it's the connection and the chat. So a much wider range of men are "my type".

I think depending on where you live, men approaching women directly in real life is a habit that has already reduced with all the dating apps available. Unless you go to dating events or singles events where it is expected to happen, approaching women directly is not that common.

Physically I like what I like so my type is my type wherever I am (if that makes sense!)

But what I’m looking for on Fab is different to what I’d be looking for in real life. On here (in the past) my ultimate goal has been some relief and escapism from everyday life and adult encounters with no strings. So the people I meet with an aim to eventually get naughty with might not necessarily be the people I’d want to settle down with.

I’m less interested in their politics, hobbies, outlook etc etc on here (as long as they are decent friendly people I can get on with) but in the real world I’d want someone with similar values, interests and a personality compatible with mine.

That’s the long(ish) answer. The short answer, which maybe I should have put at the start, is no!
