Didn't even browse online this year.

Had nothing I needed and there are better sales at other times of the year

Couldn’t be bothered. Overhyped, regularly priced leftovers at so called ‘sale’ prices.

To be honest, I’d prefer to be able to have the heating on for a bit longer anyway.

I agree, some of it can be - depends on how gullible the advertisers think we are and consider other factors.

I managed to save at least £40 on a Radley watch and £100 on a Michael Kors hand bag, £80 on x2 100 ml bottles of Paco Rabanne "Invictus" mens EDP fragrance - all crimbo gifts so I'm delighted.

I bought a mattress that was needed and had been in my basket for a while, got £30 off then an extra reduction with a discount code.

Was hoping to get a pair of boots that I also need but haven't found any that I like.

I saved money to buy what I needed. It was for sale at £100 less than it previously cost, I was going to buy it anyway ergo I saved £100.

What happens is that retailers rebrand the offers that they would otherwise put on as “Black Friday” offers

Precisely. I bought a lot of my regular things Which were on offer. Just brings the purchase date forward that's all. Its not all bad.

A saving is a saving if you planned to buy the item and then found out it was reduced.

Some of us have to keep the country going.

If you wanted to buy something, and you got it the sale, and were going buy it anyway, you've spent less than you would have spent. We're all grown ups.
