When you spot someone you know don’t message them saying you know them or use their real name without disclosing who you are.

This has happened so many times to me and I find it massively unfair and creepy when people do this. Especially when they don’t have any pics themselves or say who they are.

Is it never a worry that they’ll tell, then you’re talk of the town?

That’s maybe the second biggest thing that stops me from being ‘all in’.

I rubbed one out looking at photos of their starfish, then made sure I explained it all to them in exquisite detail the next time I saw them!

After all they are on a fuck site, so they shouldn’t be shocked!

It's the ultimate nightmare. My location when in mobile tells me all I need to know about who's on around me, and it freaks me out, as they will certainly know who I am!! I think the time honoured "close your eyes and pretend you never seen it" is the best practice in this, the most unusual of circumstances. In the end though, they can suspect, but until it's confirmed it's only a hunch..

I wish I could find that lass a few doors down on here tbf, wouldn’t mind seeing what she looks like in the buff.

As far as I’m aware it’s never happened, and I hope nobody has ever recognised me. If they have they’ve kept their gob shut, which is the way it should be! (Unless it’s you a few doors away in which case hit me up and let’s do it in the bushes by the garages … )

A week ago or so we received a message from a lovely single lady, I messaged her back attaching a face pic of the two of us and let’s just say we both could not stop giggling over the fact our kids used to hang out together and I’ve shared many a bottle of wine with her over the years, the three of us do intend to meet for a coffee but we just won’t tell the kids!!!

It really was a shock for me because never ever would I have thought she was such a dirty minx

It surprises me more when people have face pics then are shocked that people recognise them

I’ve recognised 2 girls from my year at school on here. I messaged them to say hi and that what happens here stays here. They were totally cool with that. Then I recognised one of my best mates, that was funny as fuck

I assumed you meant the guy from your work who stood you up, but maybe I’m wrong.

Happened twice for me and once someone else recognised me.

First time she'd put face pic as her profile by mistake, she quickly changed it. I did message, told her she'd served me a pint in the pub earlier. We chatted for while, were mates off here, but sadly I managed to upset her so we don't really talk now

The second was another local woman but profile been inactive about 2 months so never made contact.

The one who recognised me was someone only exchanged few messages with. Sent face pic and she said "You work at ...." I said yeah and she replied "lucky escape" and not heard from her since. So can only assume it's someone from work.

I don’t search through fab enough, but I suspect I could/would find someone I know if I crawled through the search function.

I’d only be shocked or supposed depending on who it was.

I can categorically say up to this point, I’ve seen nobody from my real life on fab.

They've not messaged but if I see someone I know I generally block them.

Someone within a quarter mile messaged and we both agreed that was far too close!

All 3. Even more so if they have ‘personal’ pics lol

Not so much if they think they know me-although it’s a thrill if they call me by my full name and ask lol x

Not recognised anyone myself - a few profiles on "who's near" are 2/3 minute walk away so I often wonder who they are....

We were shocked the first time it happened and almost deleted our account on the spot.

Now we take a more pragmatic view. If they’ve found our profile they have no right to be shocked or upset as they are on here too!

We assess the likelihood of a meet and then either chat or block depending on the person.

If someone I know on here sees me, they're here too, so what's the worst that can happen? If they out me to people, they're outing themselves. If they contact me, I can choose whether to engage with them, politely say I don't mix in this circle with people I already know or block and move on.

We message and verify them, if it’s not well received they’re usually the types that leave the site, we’re proud of who we are, we quite enjoy seeing people we know in “compromising positions” this may be seen as calling folk out but we see it as calling each other out, we’re all nosey, why aren’t we honest about it?
