"It's a sad feeling when you wake up and people expect you to carry on and act happy, but actually they couldn't really give a shit about you. I hate feeling alone and being ignored by people I classed as friends. Yes I know I can be a pain in the arse, I also know my own flaws and faults. Some people don't know how to ask for help or have difficulty expressing their feelings. Depression sets in, as does feeling worthless! "Good morning PP and all others. Depression is a crushing affliction that feeds on itself. It leaves you hollow and unwilling to engage with the world because you deem yourself invisible and unworthy. Good friends and good people are just that. However, they aren't miracle workers nor mind readers, especially from afar. If you consider those people to be good friends, it's most likely because they are. However, you need to take a breath, be brave and make that move to contact them when you need the support and help. They'll be there. They haven't forgotten you. They've just been getting on with things but they'll be there for you when you need it. You need to do your part to fight that depression. It has to come from within. It won't happen overnight and you will have slip ups in your fight but you have to want to fight it and keep fighting it. It's not a battle, it's a prolonged war. Don't expect others to keep lifting you without your own effort. They have their own battles to fight also but can still be the support you need. The first step to take is to tell yourself that people care. It may seem like a 'lie' to yourself and you will need to fight that feeling. People 'don't care' is a lie perpetrated by the depression to fool you into letting it rule you. My missives tend to waffle on and put War and Peace to shame. Imagine if I actually wrote a novel!!
