So I’m going to go curl up in bed with a book. I imagine I’m not the only one with the same idea, so what we all reading (besides forum posts, obviously).

Also, side note, love my smart bulbs. Means I don’t have to get out of bed to turn the buggers off!!!

Chariots of the Gods. Finally got around to buying it after years of wanting to but procrastinating.

Old skool and a little dated but I do like a nice conspiracy theory.

Piranesi is a fantasy novel by English author Susanna Clarke, published by Bloomsbury Publishing in 2020. It is Clarke's second novel, following her debut Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell (2004), published sixteen years earlier. Piranesi won the 2021 Women's Prize for Fiction.

Don’t ask me why but for 30 seconds I thought that was the lady who wrote the hunger games.

It’s not, incidentally.

Oh related note, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was a good book. It’s set like 50 years before the hunger games (roughly). Gives a lot of background to the world the saga is set in while still being good, and not just a rehash of the original 3 books.

I don’t usually read memoirs or biographies/ autobiographies, but sometimes they fascinate me if the author has put it right (right for me that is).

I’ve not that long ago finished the Mississippi series by Greg iles. Fantastic books was supposed to be one book originally but ended up with a trilogy and 700 or more pages in each. A pre book with the same main character is called The devils punch bowl. What a page turner and early in the book there’s about a bit of about forty pages that is the most tense I’ve ever read

I enjoyed Piranesi, but yes, it’s not going to be to everyone’s taste, I’m ploughing slowly through 4321 by Paul Auster and am about 900 pages into this 1000 page book and actually I stopped caring a little while ago but I’m not giving up on it this far in. I’m so looking forward to reading something else though
