Everything there is about a woman’s menstrual cycle. Urgh. I’ve just had the most idiotic interaction with a chap. I had to cancel our meet due to Mother Nature. He responded with well i know a lot about periods I was married to a woman for a long time and you should have known when it was coming. Congratulations mate. I am the one with the uterus. I’ve had periods for a few years now and they like to surprise me. He said I must’ve know it was coming. I was like mate I have PCOS and endo my periods are erratic . Anyway subsequently he got blocked it really pissed me off. He was so entitled. Grrrrrr angry sparkles.

"I don't think many men claim this to be fair lol he's blocked now so just move on."

It’s like he was married to one woman for a period of time which meant he knew everything about the female reproductive cycle. It’s like man there’s so many different varying factors no two women are the same. It just annoyed me. I defo dodged a big misogynistic bullet.

I was about to say, sounds like a bullet well dodged, although an unpleasant experience.

Awwh thank you. Yes move on now. I just needed a rant I was so angry I knew I’d be thinking about it as I was drifting to sleep if I didn’t get it off my chest.

Onwards and upwards though I’m taking a bit of a break me thinks.

It's the ones that suddenly pop up once a month and seem surprised when you tell them that you have mother nature that get me. Yet they are like clockwork and almost beat you app notication to say its coming.

Sounds more like the bloke is a bit of a know-it-all, has no awareness of what areas he has limited knowledge, and would feel utterly confident in taking the lead in other areas where he isn’t got a clue, regardless of whether he is dealing with a female or not. So just a general arsehole rather than specifically being a misogynist.

The Town by The Cross

I don't think he sounds misogynistic. I couldn't claim to fully understand the male body and all it's workings and problems and as the general education in society regarding periods is that they happen every month it's not too far of a leap for that to be most people's 'fact'

I used to watch my friend doubled over and sliding down walls and having to be sent home from school and I used to think wtf is up with her?

I never had period problems and so couldn't understand her problem. Learning takes years.

Reply privatelyReply in forumReply +quote

.

It might have been a bit silly but that might have genuinely been how he felt. Look at posts where people don't understand what a woman goes through - whether that's pain or duration.

Granny is right about learning - we should have more education/opportunity to learn about the differences in periods.

I'm sorry you had that response from him.

He was upset about the postponement. It didn't matter what the reason for it was.

Regardless of what you would've told him, he would have found a thousand reasons why you were making excuses not to meet.

Misogynistic is being thrown around a little too loosely these days

Desperation and entitlement aren’t attractive, are they? Tosser.

You shouldn’t have had to justify yourself or argue the toss over your own body.

My periods are all over the place at the moment, largely due to being on a low calorie diet, and my contraceptive implant nearing the end of its life!

Hope you’re ok xx

Just an idea and I’m sure people will have reasons why it won’t work….

Why not plan every meet as a social with the option of more on the same day if everything goes well. That way both parties know there could be a possibility of something extra but expectations are at a level where it may or may not happen.

Also this could save everyone involved the disappointment of a cancellation as first and foremost it’s a social meeting.

Like I said just an idea

Manchester (he/him)

People can only know what they’re educated on, I didn’t know or understand these things until I knew people with a similar issue.

Chances are, he thought that you were trying to fob him off with a vague excuse (which does happen) and got annoyed, in turn you got annoyed at his lack of understanding.

It seems clear that you weren’t compatible and you dodged a ‘meh’.

The OP has the right to meet or not to meet but given the circumstances would a social meeting been arranged?

Surely it’s not beyond the wit of adults to react to a change in circumstances and behave accordingly. Perhaps a few drinks in a pub or just a social interaction was called for?

He was basically calling you a liar and saying you were using a period as an excuse not to meet. Not a good basis for an intimate encounter. You did the right thing. However, sadly, there are people on here who use that sort of excuse when it is not true.

Because most (not all, but most) will agree to a social at first but once it becomes clear there may not be a chance of any action they will absolutely ghost. It's just too much effort...

Anyway OP, if this guy is so clueless about female reproductive systems he probably wouldn't have known his way around a vag either. You've dodged a massive bullet

It really is a lucky escape (for you).

He would probably have told you that you're doing sex wrong.

Or that your orgasm was wrong.

Or that the other women he fucked liked xyz so you are wrong for not liking the same thing.
