Web cam won't work in chat rooms .any ideas.

Hi people. When in the chat room I click on the camera icon and on the screen and camera won't come on .could anyone help please. Ps I am on a phone not laptop.

I’m not an expert and probably no help. But after working in a big corporate for years AND an avid viewer of the IT Crowd back in the day, maybe turn it off and turn it on again?
