No he isn't.

It was a non event.

His detractors just won't miss an opportunity to be self serving.

There was a pause of a few seconds in a long speech while he looked for a piece of paper and he asked forgiveness three times so not a lot of silence

And NOT much patience from the haters.

I AM NOT A TORY

I've met him a bunch of times. Do not be fooled by the act, he is incredibly sharp, knows exactly what he's doing, knows when to play the clown. Very intelligent man, who is as cunning as a fox, wouldn't trust him at all because he knows exactly what is happening and is pulling strings.

Exactly this so much is taken out of context to suit someone’s narrative

He's not to be underestimated.

He's a funny looking fucker I know, but you've got to look passed the hair and that cute and cuddly thing; it's all a deceptive façade.

He's tired, he's had a cold for quite some time and he's got kids. I don't like the man, his politics or his attempts at being the lovable fool but even though I shook my head and rolled my eyes I can empathise.

I don't think a talk to business leaders at the CBI is a time to quote a trip to peppa pig world.

It was cringe worthy for the prime minister of the United Kingdom!

You don't see Jacinda Ardern, Justin trudeau, Angela Merkel making such a pigs ear of it..

Nafferton, nr Driffield.

Anyone can fumble a speech and mix up their papers. He is not the best of public speakers at the best of times, having a slightly conversational style that is hardly gripping.

I am more concerned by some of the policy decisions taken recently that are not giving due regard to the needs of the North.

Boris is popular because he appears bumbling. A character straight out of Dickens (and as we know, he loves a good dicking).

We English don’t trust steely, humourless people with an arse you could crack nuts with. Ok there was Thatcher but we loved her when she sent the Junta packing.

I thought his speech was a mess and embarrassing in front of the CBI. This post covid\Brexit time needs a bit of focus and less grunting about Peppa bloody pig.

Should we really have to contextualise a peppa pig reference from the Prime Minister.

I'm sure if he was opening a new school or nursery it might be an appropriate reference..

You hit the nail on the head.

A deceptive facade which in itself is dishonest as he is obviously not being himself.

He blatantly and unashamedly models himself on Churchill who himself was not without his flaws.

I agree with your sentiment but not with your evidence.

The gvt didn't TAKE 20.00 they GAVE 20.00 and made it known it was temporary but ....... his detractors will do all they can to disinform people.

That is true granny however would you not agree that given covids continued presence and the cost of living increase via the crazy gas price rises, impending electricity price rises, rising cost of fuel and food it could have been maintained for a while longer would you agree?

This video sums the tories up for me & even though is Johnson trying to make the changes he's only doing what he thought would keep him in the job and will backtrack or uturn depending on how the wind blows re general consensus. Such a whimsical person

I haven't watched the video yet.

My feelings on the £20 are that it should have been left in situ and no further rises in benefits given until the cost of living overtook that 20 EXTRA. The only problem with this is that those that love misinformation and partial truths would keep quoting that they 'never ever got rises' e.g. 'our benefits never go up' .... they wouldn't say ..... Oh yeah we got it ages ago and have had it for a long time now.

MOre is never enough.

Boris Johnson and Kier Starmer both made speeches to the CBI yesterday.

Which one is being talked about and which one isn't?

Don't disagree with your view on the £20 rise, think leaving it there under the conditions you said would have been a sensible decision all in.

I'm fortunate enough to have never had to avail of any benefits or UC myself but I've never been comfortable with how there is such a low opinion across the board on those that do, fueled by benefit porn on TV and driven agenda by a right wing media to focus so much attention on those with so little. It's a very easy stick to beat people with and for alot of people UC and benefits are a top up to wages not a full wage, the majority of claimants are also doing so in good faith but alot of society tar people with the 'scrounger' or 'false claim' brush which is a shame.

The last year and a half should show everyone that we are only a few pay cheques away from needing help via unforseen circumstances and people should remember that in my opinion before they judge others so quickly.
