Hi ladies, I had to have a colposcopy Friday due to an abnormal smear test. They found an area of cells that they treated with a lletz.

Was a bit uncomfortable, and I’ve had a bit of cramping and back pain. But I’m glad it was found and treated. Just got to wait for the results now. Smear tests are so important x

I hope you’re ok

I had loop excision treatment after my first smear found severe cell changes, they got it all and then more regular smears for a few years after.

Hope you don’t wait too long for results and all ok xx

Thank you kat. Smears are such a simple thing to have done and has the potential to save so many lives. I've made my daughter promise me that she will never miss one.

On a mooch

Hope your pain eases soon, rest up OP

It’s never a pleasant experience, but smears are so important.

I had the joy of various colposcopies and removal of sections of my cervix in my early 30s. Even though I’ve been all clear for 15 years now, I still dread the results, always will do, even more so now they are three years apart again

Thanks ladies, I’m resting as much as I can. Thankfully it was only cin1 but still a worrying time.

Seems that it’s more of a regular occurrence than I thought. X

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

OP, I'm glad they called you in and I hope the results are negative when you get them.

The pain does come as surprise, especially when they describe it as a 'bit of discomfort'. I opted to have my cervix removed with my hysterectomy because I'd had a few irregular results.

Thanks for the reminder to us all to go for the smear.

Just rest and try not to worry. I had CIN 3 cells removed with a Lletz procedure after colposcopy. Had my first smear since having treatment and all clear.

Yeah, ive had a couple of colposcopys and a loop excision. Not a pleasant experience but very worth going through if needed. So glad that the hpv vacine seems to be doing a great job in those young enough to have had it.

Sending hugs x

Under the Duvet

Had similar around 15 years ago, where they freeze the dodgy cells off.

Wasn't pleasant but wasn't hugely painful.

Hugs to you OP

Try not to worry about it, easier said than done but stay focused on the positive, your getting treatment.

Honesty I felt nothing, but I was nervous too.

The nurse just kept me talking while I had the procedure, kept my mind off it as much.

Huge hugs x
