Been noticing of late that people's manners have dropped tremendously on and off of fab , especially if you message someone and chat for a few days then all of a sudden the stop chatting or straight up deleting messages! Why has manners dropped to zero? , the amount of people even outside of fab that have become rude due to "covid blues" tbh I find a shitty excuse if I'm honest be polite and friendly and open doors for people smile and laugh and if you lose interest in someone just say ! , rant over

Visiting Blackpool

We wouldn't swap messages with someone for several days. We swap a few messages then that's it, we meet or we don't. We're very polite and friendly, honest!

Maybe they just got bored. Sending a few messages doesn't mean you're guaranteed sex.

Have you considered that a lot of times, people get disgraceful amounts of abuse for saying thanks but no thanks. It’s often more straight forward to just let the conversation fizzle out and drift away into the history books.

To be honest I think it's rude to feel entitled to the time and attention of strangers.

I feel manners have dropped on fab by people who struggle to understand that messages drop off because they no longer want to talk to someone or actually become busy, message get deleted as a way of managing an inbox as you would with any other social media platform.

Also the sense of entitlement and toxic masculinity is growing by the day.

Observation not a criticism but ...... Is it manners to use language such as 'shitty' when speaking to people you have never met?

I'm asking because I feel that typing into the ether is part and parcel of why we can disassociate from other people and what we do.

You would not have spoken to me like that face to face if we met for the first time and you asked me that question - but here you did?

Personally if I'm enjoying a chat then I carry on chatting. If I draw it to a close then I wasn't enjoying it.

Your status puts you in the bad manners category, 95% are up their own asses on here. What a shame you’ll go UNLOS soon, what a loss to Fab you’ll be.

Exactly this. Or maybe their inbox is busy and you get lost. This happens to me, I could be having a great conversation but all of a sudden an influx of messages come in and bam you disappear while trying to be “polite” replying to everyone. Unless I sat on here all day I couldn’t reply to every message. You say thank you and people think that’s a conversation opener. These threads really annoy me because it’s got nothing to do with being rude for the most part.

Of course there’s always been rude people in and out of fab, and I do personally think it’s got worse post lockdowns! But having said that, my tolerance levels when dealing with rude people has also dropped, so I do wonder if that’s why I pick up on more rudeness now? Miss pc

Have they stopped chatting or just given up when the conversation is like pulling teeth? That's usually why I stop responding, people have very different opinions on what a conversation actually is.

Most people are not compatible with most other people, so it's natural to expect that the majority of your chats will just stop. No reply is a polite fab action that means there is no further interest. This is in site FAQs and so is a socially acceptable - polite - behaviour.

We can all adjust our expectations and the closer they are in reality, the better. Don't confuse the bigger world with a closed community, where specific norms and terms imposed by the business prevail.
