You know what, in recent years I've become a lot more aware and accepting of my masculinity.

Over the years, for numerous reasons I'd suppressed it and been ashamed of it. But no longer am I pushing it away.

I'm embracing and yes, let's celebrate being MEN!

Please do, the largest killer of men under 45 is suicide, check the other men in your life are doing ok, ask them twice if you think something is up. Encourage open conversations about mental wellbeing.

This is a great day to celebrate men and is very welcomed. Yes, recently it’s also focused on men’s mental health and I fully support that movement also.

I actively encourage everyone to reach out to the men in their lives and let them know they are appreciated for who they are and that they have a safe space to talk of needed. It’s important

At least I know if I’m struggling, I can unload here. I find it so much easier than in person. I explained in another thread a few days ago, I grew up chronically shy, and as a consequence, keep myself to myself always. I while away the dark hours with my thoughts, and switch em off when the sun comes up.

I am glad to see the shift in attitudes on here, too.

The first year I started an IMD thread there were just a few posts. It's never made it to 175, but this one is over 50, supportive and friendly.
