In the lounge and out the lounge

Is your persona the same? Do you prefer staying in the lounge or do you prefer the social meets? Have you noticed people are different (not necessarily in a bad way) to what you expect?

I like to think I show my true self between the two but I'm definitely more shy in person. Although once I'm relaxed I do enjoy the wafts of innuendos and witty 'banter' that seem to seep out of me. I like to think I'm fast off the mark. Don't worry, I can have a civilised conversation too.

Husband has no desire to chat online (apparently xbox/pc games is different though, who knew?!)

I'm very timid in groups. Used to be the same with one on one but I think I've managed to break through that mostly now . Especially when the clothes come off

I used to hate chatting online in video games though because I was super self conscious about my accent

Now I'm older I don't care anymore, just listen to my instructions noob

Manchester (he/him)

I’m much the same irrespective of where I post, my style and thought processes seem to match the lounge more though, so this is where I tend to be found the most.

I’d like to think that I’m much the same in person, although I’ve been told that I’m funnier off the page.

I am the same in both but I can be perceived as quiet when I am people watching as I am taking in the scenery, people obviously don't get to see that online

It depends how much I like you in a social setting. If we get on, you’ll get me.

In the forum, I think little bits of me are shown, other bits ar complete fabrications to throw anyone of the scent.

What you see/read is what you get. Same on or off the Forums.

I think I'm pretty much the same. Maybe even more chaotic in real life. Possibly bit nicer. But never had a feedback saying: oh that's not how I imagined you in real life.. so that's a relief

I dont believe im any different online or in real life, but its hard for ppl to really judge a persons persona from online interactions to real life encounters. Someone might not be different in either place but you could completely mistake them as being someone entirely different

Also, did you know during ancient roman theatrical plays, the masks they would wear were called 'persona', hence the modern adaptation now referring to someones personality, to put on a persona, or mask

My personality is pretty much the same. Naturally with a bit of added shyness initially.

If anyone wants to put it to the test, just shout

La la land

I'm going to buck the trend here. But I'm different here compared to if you met me. I'm a lot more formal with the written word than I am when I chat away with people. My values etc are all the same regardless of where I am. But my sense of humour and fun aren't really shown all that much here.

It's difficult to repress my natural exuberance and feistiness in the Lounge. But I think I've nailed it.

I really don’t know. Plenty of forum people have met me so I guess they can be the judge. Probably more fun and happy in real life than I am on here.

People would probably say I'm more smiley/not quite as prickly in person...I'm still very direct though

I'm probably different, unless I know you very well. I like the forum (specifically the Lounge area anyway), and I think how I come across would be very recognisably me to anyone that saw my posts. Certainly, in the spirit of curating yourselves as we all do online, Lounge me is my favourite version of me. If you met me, you'd probably get that version, or at least see moments of it, but only if we were getting on well. If we weren't, I'd seem very different and probably be overly polite until I could leave

I'm the same shitshow online as offline. I talk more offline though, I find myself typing posts on here and then thinking "nah, fuck it" and scrapping them.

I’m very shy in person, but once I’m relaxed around someone then yes, I’m the same(I reckon so anyway).
