Do you watch tele with sutitles

Morning all listening to the radio this morning and the quote was 80% of 18 to 25 year old watch tele with subtitles was quite surprised the reason was people talk quick.what are your thoughts and do you have the subtitles on

I’m deaf and if there are no subtitles I don’t watch it because there’s not much point I miss so much.

Funnily enough I’m ok with radio. I don’t get it either.

I watch with them on. As a foreigner, it helps reassure me that I'm catching everything, including idiomatic expressions

I’m partially deaf so have them on pretty much all the time, especially for films.

We've had subtitles on permanently since the kids were born. Gives us more chance to follow the plot while blanking their frequent requests for snacks
