Yep. Military history, aircraft, warships, tanks, all of that, but I love all kinds of museums.

I also collect and build aircraft models and read books about all periods of history, particularly WW2 in the Pacific against the Japanese.

I'm a bit of a WW2 geek...

Love visiting museums, although in London I've only been to thw War Museum and Science Museum, I've yet to visit the Natural History Museum.

Bovington is on my to do list however up on the North Norfolk coast we have the Muckleborough Collection, a small tank museum with one of the few fully working German 88's.

Well tbh geek kinda got appropriated by the kids who were into harry potter and comic con but had never read a comic book in their life. The real geeks of old got relegated to being nerds and dorks. So i just lump all 3 together in the same catagory cos its silly trying to separate their meanings

It's all about monopoly of course nah I prefer mansions of madness over Arkham horror. Others include taverns of tiefenthal, Istanbul, porta Rico, mysterium and an unhealthy obsession with ticket to ride despite the fact it is nothing like most games I like!

I tried doing some bits with the raspberry pi but I have a hate hate relationship with tech

Clearly we've got some new games to add to our list then! We've only played Mysterium out of those. To be fair, we're both relatively new to boardgaming. We have regular board game nights with some friends though, and they've got dozens

We tried a pretty simple game last night called The Mind. Unexpectedly pretty good fun for a game where you put numbered cards in order.

I've got about 40 so not as many as a lot of enthusiasts that have 100+ but it's always being added to! Sometimes the simple ones are the best, especially if you're trying to get non-gamers involved. Ticket to ride is particularly good for exactly that! The game play itself is simple and easy to pick up within a few rounds of playing. Power grid is another good one for getting new players hooked, it's simple but still enjoyable for seasoned players. Takenoko is another one I'll throw in there as it's super cute, the art work is great and simple enough for getting new players on board

Honestly don't know where folks store them all. Think I'd need to buy another garden shed just to stick them in if we had that many.

We've got a board game night on Friday so I'll see if any of the gang have any of the games you mentioned. Sure they'll have Ticket To Ride though (it's on our list to pick up).

Have you ever played Scythe? We really enjoy it, but it's a bit of a slog to set up and learn.

I played it once but absolutely loved it! You've reminded me I need to play that again actually. Quacks of quidlingburd (unsure of spelling) is also really good. Only played that once as well but an easy game to pick up. I've heard good things about wingspan and it looks a beautiful game but I've not played it yet. Definitely on my "to play" list.

One of the reasons I bought a new house was because I ran out of room to store board games, hahaha! Have you ever done any escape rooms? (real life rather than board game) x

So, naturally you live in a mansion now right? Future proofing for the influx of boardgames to come

I'm... Kinda pants at pvp games, so tend to like a good co-op to spare my poor ago. Been playing a lot of Shards of Infinity with C, but she spanks me and that's just not on! Also surely to goodness no one actually buys 'Quacks of quidlingburd'? It'll break every site search out there

So, we've done I think 3 escape rooms together, and I've done one prior to that. Not exactly seasoned experts it has to be said. How's about yourself? Are you writing from one right now? Are... You stuck?

Yeah that's kinda my gripe with deck builders to be honest. It can get super expensive with all the various expansions. Shards of Infinity isn't too bad, although I find there's a bit too much of a luck element to that depending on what comes up either in your hand or the store area.

I really like any game where your interaction with it matters? Recently bought Betrayal At House On The Hill which is awesome for that. Feels like there's so much replayability!

Just had a look at Mansions and it looks awesome! Quite a pricey game mind you. Might have to ask Santa for that one

So, if we get stuck in any escape rooms, we can give you a call to get us out? Think we'd have to get you on speed dial though 'cos we really aren't great

I'm too lazy and don't wanna concentrate for long (do that for a living heh), so I'm probably the most useless of the group. Usually get given the task of finding any of the items in the rooms

It gets even more pricey when you consider how many expansions there are too! but definitely worth it, the game play is great.

Haha luckily I'm pretty good at puzzles and my partner is great at finding stuff so we work well as a team!

Oh I've played betrayal a few times, definitely massive replayability. If you're bored at work at any point, check out table top on YouTube. It's a board games series with will Wheaton playing through games and explaining Thier rules in a simple fashion. Ive bought a few games off the back of watching them so it can be a dangerous thing haha "

Good grief, that sounds expensive

Especially with Black Friday. Might pick up some bargains!
