The husband of British-Iranian detainee Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has ended his hunger strike after 21 days.

Now that's what I call love and commitment.

Talk about being there for your partner and having their back.

I have a lot of respect for the guy.

I hope that Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe is freed and home soon.

I follow Victoria Coren Mitchell on Twitter and she and Claudia Winkleman visited him a couple of times. So I’ve been keeping an eye on his campaign. Unfortunately apart from the publicity I don’t think it’ll prick the conscience of Liz Truss or the Tory Government.

Happy he’s decided to now end his second hunger strike, let’s hope it’s not a forgotten battle and it garners someone in power to finally put an end to this.

Don’t forget it’s partly Boris fault, she’s in the trouble she’s in.

Yes. Boris had previously been involved in the case when he was foreign secretary. In November 2017, he had to apologise after he was criticised for suggesting Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe had been training journalists when she was arrested, rather than on holiday.

I read on Twitter that he visited some junior foreign office staff, who fobbed him off and wouldn't let him use the loo.

Didn’t know about the toilet but I saw he had a meeting with the Foreign Office and his MP. They both agreed it was a waste of time.

Twitter community certainly were on his side. Not read any negative tweets about him and his protest.

It wasn't a useful narrative to have for the current PM at that time. A lot of the press were supporting the PM and his plans at the time. At whatever cost.
