Twice.

Once openly in a store I was told I looked aggressive. Secondly by an ex colleague who formed a bias opinion when I took my jacket off at the pub wearing a t shirt revealing a full sleeve on one arm and ink on other arm. Put my jacket back on and not long after got another job. None of the ink is offensive in any way.

Not now I don't but 35 years ago I got a far few looks and occasionally some would cross the road . I only had 10 tattoos on my arms and a few others . I stood out then not anymore as so many have them now

She saw me and looked at my tattoos and her whole demeanour changed, barely spoke, all it did was make me be extra nice and friendly to show her not to judge!

I don't think anyone has judged me for mine. Although I don't have many. I'd be heavily tattooed if I had the money and ideas. Got some in the pipeline for next year.

Was my daughters last year in primary school this year and they did a leaving show for her class outside and it was a boiling day. In the morning I put a summer dress on and my daughter said mam can you wear something else I was like what’s wrong with this dress and she was like nothing, you look nice but you’re not like the normal mothers you got boobs and tattoos

Of course you get judged on your tattoos. Just like you get judged on your choice in clothes, hairstyle and pretty much any other outward expression of your personality.

You may be judged positively, or maybe negatively, but how you decorate your body will influence people's first impression of you. And you do the same to other people. It's what we do as a species, it's how we form quick alliances and manage to find people with common and shared interests and passions.

Tattoos are just one element of what you are judged on, not the only thing.

only have the one, a hummingbird dipping into a petunia flower, on the back of my right shoulder, and it's not on display much, so I would say no.

This. If someone doesn’t like something it doesn’t mean they’re judging. We all have things we don’t like, is that judging? If it’s something I don’t like I don’t tend to give it as a reason, I just say not for me. I guess if people give reasons some see it as judging. This is why I prefer not to.

I have been once to my face by a previous manager who told me that my ink will limit my career progression.

This is the same woman who told me I dressed too flamboyant for the office because I wore a pair of leopard print stilettos to liven up my black pencil skirt and blouse.

I pointed out that my ink and style of dress is within the dress code policy.

The same manager bought me silver sequins stiletto Christmas decorations that year because when she saw them she thought of me and just had to buy them for me

I get judged on mine both positively and negatively.

I find it's the older generation or just plain snobs that are negative whereas the younger are positive...shows how the opinion of society is changing as tats become more mainstream I guess.

Negative example actually happened last week. I was coming back to my car with a trolley load of shopping and a couple getting out of the car next to me gave me some proper stinkeye. I smiled as I opened the boot to my more expensive vehicle and hear the lady say to the guy "he must be a d#rug dealer"

Judged purely on the fact I was in trackies,trainers and t-shirt with my tats out. I just smiled at her,gave her a wink and drove off leaving her looking disgusted

Positive judgement; I was at a park with my kids, a fellow parent commented how much she liked my tats,we struck up a convo based on that and she gave me her number...few days later we had our own play date

We all get judged on all aspects of our appearance and we all also judge others the same way. We do it here, we do it everwhere. I sometimes catch myself doing it and have to give myself a mental slap!
